But then, it seems like it’s always Springtime for Hitler on the port side of the U.S. Senate. In 2004, former Sen. John Glenn (D-OH) said of the Republican convention that year:
Kerry surrogates were also out in full force Friday, taking issue with many of the specific attacks leveled at the Democratic nominee during the GOP convention. In a morning conference call with reporters, Rep. Richard A. Gephardt (D-Mo.) vowed that “the rebuttal of what they’ve thrown at us has just begun.”
Former senator John Glenn (D-Ohio) took the defense a step further by comparing the Republicans’ misleading statements to those of Nazi Germany. “You’ve just got to separate out fact from fiction. . . . Too often, too often, in this country, if you hear something repeated, it’s the old Hitler business — if you hear something repeated, repeated, repeated, repeated, you start to believe it,” he said.
The following year, we had Dick Durbin’s (D-IL) rant-by-numbers approach:
If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime—Pol Pot or others—that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.
And today, Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) “Compares Current Health Care System To Communist China And Nazi Germany:”

Umm, isn’t the goal of the left to move America in that direction? After all, they really knew their Death Panels, not just in Nazi Germany, but the Weimar Republic as well.
Besides, much like Al Gore comparing the fight against global warming to both the Holocaust and civil rights, and now, just in the past two days, Democrat senators alternating between comparing those against socialized medicine to, ironically, both those Democrats against civil rights, and now, with Mikulski’s spittle-faced rant, to Nazis, I wish the left would would pick one slur and stick with it.
