Christmas In Cambodia With ClimateGate

December 2, 2009 - 1:08 pm - by Ed Driscoll

Way back in the 2004 presidential election campaign, unlike real MSM TV journalists, faux anchorman Jon Stewart was the only “reporter” to ask John Kerry about his supposed misadventures in Cambodia during the Vietnam War.

Flash-forward to 2009: the Business & Media Institute notes “12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal,” but once again…Jon Stewart breaks the embargo, adding, “Why would you throw out raw data from the eighties? — I still have Penthouse magazines from the seventies!”

Heh. Well, that’s one way to get through all the Global Cooling that was going on back then!

Update: And to further bring 2009 full circle with 2004, at the American Enterprise Institute’s blog, Jay Richards writes, “Revenge of the Nerds: Climategate Is Following the Memogate Pattern.”

  1. 1. Where's The Media

How low can the MSM go? Their silence begs the question: Are they angling for a federal bailout? What is their silence buying?

I mean, this IS bad. Kinda like when Drudge broke Monicagate and the MSM took many days before they could be dragged kicking and screaming onto the story.

Their silence is totally dishonest. Who could ever believe them again?

  2. 2. M. Report

    It is traditional:
    Scientific American refused to accept
that a couple of bicycle repairmen
    were first in flight. :)

  3. “Who could ever believe them [MS media] again?”

Are you kidding me? Who HAS believed them for the last 40 years?

    Certainly not me.

The entire belief system of the left (which obviously includes the MSM) is tied up in AGW being real. Asking them to report on this is akin to asking them to take back every nasty thing they’ve ever said about those of us on the right and admit that their world view has failed.

The MSM doesn’t want to admit that Bush was right, Noble Prize winner Al Gore was wrong. Obama was wrong and OMG Sarah Palin was right! The Red Coats would have to play. “The World’s Turned Upside Down”. It would be downright revolutionary. Only problem is the AGW crowd has yet to craft a narative that comes close to passing the red face test. This might cause us to question many things we’ve been told by the MSM.

Congressional approval overall stood at 8 – 9% in October 2008, meaning that over 90% of respondents supposedly disapproved incumbents. Come election day, voters returned a large incumbent majority to office, including ridiculously corrupt incompetents like Jefferson, Murtha, Rangel et al. on grounds of partisanship combined with outright theft.

Climategate may well redound to the extreme discredit of Briffa, Hansen, Jones, Mann, Trenberth, and their sleazy ilk. But at day’s end, globalonists such as BHO, Pachauri, Reid/Pelosi-crats in Congress, will stroll the aisles waving Soros’ banknotes as they always have.

When facts, “decent respect” for opinion, even rationality mean nothing to subversive Luddite sociopaths like Kerry, Barney Frank, Keith Ellison ["a sickening disgrace"] the time has come to act. “World Government” draped like a pustulent shroud from Copenhagen may find its match in quicksilver Committees of Correspondence mounting Minute Man assaults on tyranny as once before. There comes a point where sheer survival trumps driveling PCBS, not by multi-culti protestations but by musket-fire.

I was not surprised to see so many known corrupt congress members returned to office. Who counts the votes? Maybe there are a few states with honest systems still in place but I could not name them. I no longer trust our electoral system, and I fear what that means for my country.

Typical. How many times has this exact same pattern played out? Bill Clinton was the absolute Master of Delay & Deny. Say, I wonder if ALGORE will refund the money he has Stolen in Carbon Offsets?!?

  9. 9. clarice

Jay Richards is exactly correct. I’d say this scandal is about at the stage where it was obvious the memos could not have been typed on the machines in the National Guard’s possession and CBS was still stonewalling.
