The Brand That Dies A Thousand Deaths

August 27, 2009 - 1:59 pm - by Ed Driscoll

Speaking of life in the VW economy, the folks at the New Ledger spot GM’s corporate logo about to be retiredgm-logo-3

The classic, simple, underlined “GM” on a field of blue is going the way of the Vega. “The idea is to de-emphasize the brand of General Motors — which emerged from bankruptcy earlier this year — and begin emphasizing its individual remaining brands: GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick.” Not sure this will help, guys.

No word yet if Obama’s logo will replace it.

  1. They don’t want people to remember what the “G” stands for (and it’s not General).

Question; how are they going to handle GMC?
