Michael Weiss writes:
I’m a few days late to this item, but L.A. Times carries a story that the Obama administration is wavering on whether or not to issue a presidential declaration recognizing the genocide of 1.5 million Armenians by the Ottoman Empire in 1915.
While wavering to its Turkish Delight, the Obama administration is also simultaneously trashing an even more important American ally, as Nile Gardiner writes:
It is now three weeks since the Sunday Telegraph first revealed the State Department’s extraordinarily rude response to concern in the U.K. over its handling of the Gordon Brown visit to the White House in early March:
“There’s nothing special about Britain. You’re just the same as the other 190 countries in the world. You shouldn’t expect special treatment.”
The remarks are hugely insulting at a time when there are nearly 9,000 British troops on the ground in Afghanistan (almost the same number as all the major continental European powers combined), and after more than 150 British servicemen have laid down their lives fighting the Taliban.
And of course, this infamous gaffe would warrant cover stories everywhere from Newsweek to Home Theater magazine if it had been committed by a GOP administration.

I have a two month old son. He fills his pants daily. People say he’s cute.
If I did that, my older kids would put me in a home for poopy old men.
It’s all in the expectations.
I think it reflects a larger attitude on the part of these people. Britain is nothing special. America is nothing special. Western civilization is nothing special. What’s scary about these people is that they are clueless and yet think they are wise. In their arrogance, they will make of America what they have made of Detroit.
Turkey is opposing the selection of Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen as Nato head. This is attributed to his stance on the Danish cartoons. Could Rasmussen also be a factor in BO’s indecision??
