RIP Andrew

March 1, 2012 - 7:58 am - by Helen Smith

I just heard the news that Andrew Breitbart died last night of natural causes. I don’t really know what “natural causes” means in Andrew’s case and all I can feel is sadness and sympathy for his family. I was in LA a few months ago and went to a party that Andrew attended. I remembered that, like me, he had heart problems and something told me to go up to him and see how he was doing. He was surrounded by fans and friends and I didn’t want to bother him. I wish I had. I, like so many others, am devastated.

I, too, am saddened by Andrew Breitbart’s passing. He was a bright light and will be missed. One of the things I admired most about him is how he lived his life on his terms, the way he wanted to live it and with few regrets.

The only thing worse than death is worrying about death. I suspect Andrew Breitbart rarely worried about dying and while it may have contributed to his untimely death, perhaps it’s also part of why his life was so special.

Often it seems that people who know from an early age that their days are numbered take a more aggressive, active approach towards life. Breitbart certainly did. He accomplished more for freedom and truth than 99.9999% do in twice the time.
