The Country of the Blind

“I think that the country could survive four more years of Obama.  But I don’t believe the country can survive in a country full of people who would re-elect him.”  Rush Limbaugh

“In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” Attributed to Erasmus.

I am delighted that the leader of the free world has finally taken decisive moral action in the Middle East. But I must admit, I am concerned to discover that the leader of the free world is Bibi Netanyahu. As for President Obama, the fact that he has decided to drop some bombs on Iraq in an attempt to stem a humanitarian disaster of his own making is less impressive. The blood of that people is on his hands. If he had not withdrawn our troops — if he had not surrendered George W. Bush’s victory — the horror there would not be happening.

But perhaps it isn’t fair to lay the blame wholly at his feet. He was elected, after all, and fairly elected. While the present chaotic, dangerous and blood-soaked state of the world is in large part the result of his complete cluelessness about the nature of reality, so great a one-eyed fool would not be in charge of things if he had not been chosen by a country of the blind.

Fifty-six percent of American women voted for Obama’s reelection, for instance. And today, because of the president’s perfidious surrender of W’s Iraq victory (which closed down the “rape rooms” of Saddam Hussein) women in Iraq are being sold into slavery — sold into slavery — by the Islamist monsters who have taken up the power vacuum Obama left behind. But don’t worry, Iraqi slave ladies. American women have your back and are, even as you are being sold, taking to the streets to protest the fact that Hobby Lobby won’t pick up the check for some of their birth control.

In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

There was no rational reason to elect Obama to the presidency in 2008. Consider: Obama did not have any resume of executive experience in the private or public sector. He had completed only 1 term as a state senator and was still in his first term as an U.S. senator. He wasn’t the leader of a popular movement, religion or philosophy, and his primary claim to fame was that he wrote 2 autobiographies. So how did this non-entity defeat both Hillary Clinton and the hapless John McCain to become president? He ran as a celebrity, not a politician.

The vast majority of voters have little or no interest in politics. Most peoples’ passions involve some aspect of the popular culture and their heroes are musicians, actors, athletes, or others on the fringe. Obama, well coiffed and attired, was seen in glamorous venues with these popular “heroes” who counted him as one of their own and sang his praises. Result: Obama was an instant celebrity, and his campaign cashed in on that persona on the way to the White House.

That being said, how come he got re-elected after his disastrous first four years? Too many voters got into the voting booth and asked themselves: "was I a fool and a dolt to vote Obama in 2008, or am I a good person who sees something special in this man? Should I admit my foolishness and vote for Romney or should I stick with my gut and let Obama have another chance to demonstrate my faith wasn't misplaced?" We know how it turned out.

With and electorate such as this, I have no faith that the Republic will survive to see its 300th birthday.

"And today, because of the president’s perfidious surrender of W’s Iraq victory "

There was no victory. If a cast comes off and the leg does not bear weight, that is failure. If you replace a roof and just a few years later it leaks like a sieve, that is failure.

Besides our troops were withdrawn under the Bush/Maliki Status of Forces timetable, not the Obama/Maliki Status of Forces timetable let alone the Obama/Obama Status of Forces timetable, Obama's own timetable was the 16 months he promised during his 2008 campaign. Obama broke his promise there, as he has done with most of his promises, and went with the Bush/Maliki Status of Forces timetable, And of course, even Bush knew we couldn't stay in Iraq babysitting their 800,000 man so called army forever. This Dolchstoßlegende redux crap is getting mighty old. And it will be getting even older when it's used for our eventual withdrawal from Afcrapistan.

Of course none of this means we shouldn't strafe and bomb the life out of the ISIS sub-animals as much as we can and arm the Kurds.

ISIS in Iraq now is nothing new though. It is just one of almost countless occurrences of Muslims acting like Muslims, of Islam being Islam. History is replete with even far worse examples and as long as Islam exists it will never end no matter what George "Islam is Love, not Hate" Bush deluded himself into thinking.

Had Obama been properly vetted, (or at all), had the truth not been distorted, covered up, strangled in its crib by a conspiratorial and propagandist media...had material evidence not been kidnapped, held hostage and often destroyed...there would have been a chance for the blind to see.

But the Journolist conspired. It has morphed into a secret society of 1000 conspirators, newly found in an FOIA request.

Obama's Mask, embroidered by his corrupt media...has held firmly in place. We cannot see him and this cabal. The protective shield of propaganda makes sure of that.

As the faculty lounge theorists watch all their pontifications, slanders and vacuous homilies come crashing down in the tectonic plate shifts rubbing them up against reality...the quaking beneath our feet rumbles loudly to the deaf as well.

The Mask is protected and ear plugs are handed out.

But there is no mistaking the vibrations. Not good, but bad vibrations.

The faculty lounge fascists will scream their blame shifting slanders as all their pet theories turn to dust. It is now merely a race to see if we will turn to dust as well before we remove The Mask and hold those who seek to destroy this nation and their conspirators accountable. Or we perish...deaf, blind and very, very dumb.

Are you serious? Who told the truth about this man ever? The media has been covering for him forever and set out to destroy conservatives. Ever heard of Lois Lerner?

A long overdue treatment of our collective complicity in twice electing the mendacious mediocrity. Salubrious sign.

The "leader of the Free World" has decided to "drop some bombs on Iraq in an attempt to stem a humanitarian disaster..."

Sympathetic to Obama as "The Leader of the Free World" but unlikely assessment of Obama's decision to "drop some bombs etc.".

There IS NOTHING that we know in the history of BH Obama's thinking or behaviour BEFORE and SINCE taking the Chair of "The Office of the President" of the USA that even suggests he has the slightest awareness or interest in any "humanitarian" objectives.

Nor that he has taken the decision.

He has since becoming the Star of the Show given every evidence of being incapable of taking any decisions that do not directly affect his own pleasures and infantile outlook on the world as the King of The Mountain.

ANY deciisions he does, has, taken would doubtless be imposed on him.

Ordered by those who pull his strings. And they have given every indication they have no interest in anything but their own continued hold on power to control the "Lives of Others" AND their deaths. With any and all ways and means at their disposal.

Look at the behaviors of Hillary Clinton, presumptive heir to the "Crown" now that Obama is universally recognised as incapable of the job as "Leader of the Free World".

Obama has til now been her particuar protege and ally. Forestalling the brass ring slipping from her fingers?

WITHOUT HIllary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi it is doubtful that EVEN the "democrats" woudl have selected BH Obama as their icon. Yes Afro-American was the ace up their sleeves. But THIS Afto American?

THEIR IDEA of what a model Afro-American is. NO OTHER proven eligible and qualified in every respect for the job?

WHAT was, is THEIR game?

"He was elected, after all, and fairly elected." Fairly elected, I disagree. When you lie, cheat and steal, it that fair? All anyone needed to know is that Obama stated that he sat in a pew for years and never heard Reverend Wright preaching hate of white men and Jews. "You can keep your doctor, period", reinforced my initial thinking that this man is not to be trusted. You are right, far to many Americans are willfully deaf, dumb and blind.

People hear what they want to hear, believe what they want to believe. I agree with Mr. Klavan, there is nothing unique or extraordinary about Obama. This country has seen thousands and thousands of empty narcissistic snake-oil salesmen over the decades, and almost always had the good sense to dismiss them quickly. What is extraordinary and unprecedented is the willingness of Americans to elect this one to the highest office in the land. Twice. Americans deserve their misery and the destruction they have brought on their country, they bought it fair and square, and knew what they were buying. It is moral cowardice to blame Obama.

If Republicans were clever (I know, I'm dreaming) they would never mention impeachment. Instead they would suggest -- with all sincerity, without venom and for the good of the country -- that Obama resign in favor of Joe Biden.

There are now many Dems who voted for Obama and who are mortified by what they now see in the White House. Those people would fight to the death against impeachment but would they resist the prospect of a couple of years of President Biden?

I'm not sure Obama won that second election fair and square, but you're right. Too many blind people in this country. Even now.

We all need to read "Outing the Moronocracy: Ending the Rule of the BLIND, the Stupid, and the Disgraceful in American Society." There are six pillars of the ruling Cainite Moronocracy. The author describes each in detail and lays out our means of overcoming all six.

Did anybody say it better than Limbaugh? Because he is exactly SPOT ON.

This country, if it were virtuous, would have no Barack Obama as President. There would be no Bill or Hillary Clinton in position of authority either.

Indeed Andrew, the problem is us.

Perfect column. Thank you.

And let's not forget the some millions of "I am the true conservative" useful idiots who did not vote for Romney and gave four more years to the subversive administration to "fundamentally transform" America.

And, of course, the "Let it Burn" types who voted for him to "punish the people".

Fair enough. I will agree with you about the conservatives who stayed home in 2012 because "Romney wasn't conservative enough." There was simply no excuse.

However, you also have to hold the "moderate" Colin Powell type Republicans responsible, who in 2008 voted for Obama because he was "historic", "post racial","post partisan", "had an unbelievable crease in his pants", was a "uniter not a divider" "centrist", "citizen of the world", etc.

The Republican establishment, who told us "Romney is the only Republican who can win against BO in 2012" somehow, unbelievably to me, was unable to tap into the enormous energy released in the 2010 mid terms, and channel that into a Republican landslide in 2012.

" There was simply no excuse."

It's no excuse at all, it's a good reason. I voted for Romney in 2012, but I refuse to put any further effort into a candidate not suited to reversing the course of the nation, which no GOP Establishment candidate will do.

The entirety of the GOP Establishment's game plan, is to reap votes and graft in return for giving the Democrat everything they want, only half as fast as they want it.

No one who understands reality and loves the country will vote for that.
