On Thursday, Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel called on Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) to recuse himself from any investigation into President Donald Trump’s contacts with Russia because of his undisclosed meeting with Glenn Simpson, the head of Fusion GPS, the firm behind the Trump-Russia dossier.

“Really the story that’s not being talked about right now is, Adam Schiff needs to recuse himself from this investigation,” McDaniel declared on the stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

“Adam Schiff had a private meeting with Glenn Simpson, the head of Fusion GPS — he didn’t disclose it to the committee,” the RNC chair said, referencing a meeting previously reported by PJ Media’s Deb Heine. “There is no reason why he should be part of this and leading this investigation. And we should all be calling for his recusal from this investigation.”

McDaniel also remarked, “Isn’t that amazing the Fusion GPS, that the Democratic National Committee paid for this fake dossier?” She also referenced former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s testimony on Wednesday, in which Cohen said he had never gone to Prague or the Czech Republic, “which was such a huge part of the fake dossier.”
