Breaking: NY Marathon Canceled

CBS News is reporting that this weekend’s NY Marathon has been canceled. Details to follow as they become available.

The New York City marathon will not take place this Sunday, NBC 4 New York has learned.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg had defended his decision to hold the 26.2-mile race as scheduled on Sunday, although many New Yorkers complained it would be insensitive and divert city resources at a time when many are suffering.
