The Wizard was a mere mortal hidden behind an illusory mask. He had no mystical powers; his magic was in the way he made people think about themselves and the world around them. Today’s intellectual wizards are masters of disinformation, working to build their own empire behind the mask of party politics on both the Left and the Right. We’ve already discussed the fact that the Republican Party has accepted Marxism into the political fold through its party manifestations on the Left. What kind of impact has this made on the Right?

In a recent Fightin’ Words podcast, Walter Hudson and David Swindle discussed retiring the term “Left versus Right” in favor of the context of “Good versus Evil” because, anymore, we are dealing with factions that do not agree with the rule of law. The Wizards of Disinformation have created a climate in which Marxist movements like the P.L.O. have been granted the same international political clout as America’s Constitutional republic. At the same time, the power of disinformation has given rise to an era in which political movments have become a way for “very clever people to make money.” In effect, certain politicians on both sides of the spectrum are the televangelists of the 21st century; political messiahs promising redemption through salvific policy.

Swindle argues that “we cannot beat them at their own game politically,” therefore, we must address our political arguments in moral terms, through the application of Biblical values. The litmus test for Swindle is a politician’s (or party’s) tolerance for antisemitism.

The Kremlin is already exercising its age-old anti-Jewish muscles, producing documentaries that accuse Ukranian leaders of being evil “Zionists” in exactly the same fashion detailed by Pacepa (himself a recipient of the famed title after his defection) in Disinformation. The Forward reports:

During the past month, since the annexation of Crimea, the Kremlin has shifted its rhetoric and tactics in playing the “Jewish card.” …In a nutshell: the Kremlin’s attempt, back in late February and March, to paint the new Ukrainian regime as Nazi and anti-Semitic has failed. It didn’t pick up much traction in world public opinion. So now the Kremlin is spreading the line that the Ukrainian leaders are Jews. Or at the very least, servants and lackeys of Jews. The intended audience is no longer international; it is domestic.

Cited as the 5th worst purveyor of antisemitism in America by PJ Lifestyle’s P. David Hornik, Ron Paul has a lengthy association with antisemitic donors and figureheads. His son, Senator Rand Paul, raised a few eyebrows after rocking out to infamous antisemite Roger Waters’s Pink Floyd tunes at CPAC.  Rand has been called out for his “tacit approval” of his father’s antisemitism; in light of the old man’s pro-Putin stance, Ukraine may bury the 2016 hopeful, especially if he doesn’t rethink his “hang Israel out to dry” isolationist ways.

Richard Wurmbrand and Natan Sharansky spoke out against the evils of Russia’s communist empire first and foremost from a platform of faith. Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa’s book Disinformation chronicles the Soviet campaign to destroy the West’s faith in God, country, each other, and themselves, only to replace it with faith in the socialist system. Remove the mask of party politics, the illusion of Left versus Right, and the picture becomes very clear. We may conquer individual leaders, or even party subcultures, but until disinformation is called out by name it will continue to morph into new and different forms of evil. The Wicked Witch feared water’s cleansing power. Immersing ourselves in the mikvah of Biblical values is the only antidote to the wickedness of disinformation in our culture.
