Celebrate diversity! It is, as you know very well, our strength. The establishment media and the entire Democrat Party establishment insist that the left’s ongoing resistance to efforts to control illegal immigration and secure our nation’s borders are rooted in a desire to be welcoming and avoid xenophobia and racism. And that’s all opposition to mass migration into Europe and the United States is based upon, right? Otherwise, there’s absolutely no reason why anyone wouldn’t be as welcoming and accommodating as possible to these poor people, who in many cases are seeking refuge from war zones — right?
Well, maybe the situation regarding immigration isn’t quite that as simple as the left wishes we would all assume it was. The Spanish-language OK Diario reported Tuesday that a man in the Granadan city of Montefrío “grabbed an axe and began chasing residents, attempting to kill them with the bladed weapon.”

It seems that “the multiple-victim assault took place around 11:00 AM this Monday in a public area.” It began when the axe-wielding man “struck a 69-year-old elderly man with mobility issues, using the axe as the victim walked through the town.” The attacker then “went on to threaten many others before ultimately attempting to kill two women. The younger of the two assaulted women suffered a head injury resulting from an axe blow, while the other was evacuated with stab wounds to her hands, in addition to the amputation of a finger.”
When he was arrested, it quickly came to light that the attacker was an immigrant to Spain from Morocco, but up until the moment that he took up the axe, he had been assumed to be a “moderate” Muslim and a grateful migrant: he had “no prior criminal record, nor has he undergone treatment for any psychiatric condition.”
So what made him pick up an axe and start attacking people? The attacker himself explained with chilling directness, saying: "I felt the call of Allah, and all Christians must die." Well, that certainly does explain it, although hardly anyone in Spain wants to face the implications of what he said, any more than political officials do in the United States.
In Montefrío, however, natives of the area have had enough, and are tired of being called racist for opposing the mass migration agenda: “Residents have spontaneously voiced their opposition to any act of racism, yet they remain firm in their rejection of immigrants who engage in criminal activity. ‘We don't care where the thieves come from; we just want to live together in peace—that is all we ask. This isn't racism; it's simply that we are fed up with the situation,’ explains Eloy, a local resident.”
That’s understandable. And while they’re at it, Montefrío residents should also be fed up with the fact that, as OK Diario notes, “no conclusive motive for the incident has been established, according to sources within the Civil Guard.” The axe-wielding attacker’s motive is supposedly unclear because he “had no history of psychiatric issues, nor did he have a criminal record.” And so “all hypotheses remain open,” although “investigators are weighing the possibility that he may have been suffering from some form of disorder at the time.”

How many times are authorities all over the West going to perform this ridiculous charade? The attacker explained his motive with crystalline clarity: He was trying to kill Christians for the bloodthirsty god who commands those who follow him to “kill them wherever you find them.” (Qur’an 2:191, 4:89, 4:91. Cf. 9:5) Spanish authorities, however, like their counterparts all over Europe and North America, prefer to pretend that such an impulse represents a misunderstanding of Islam, and an excuse for some other motive. Then they expend all manner of resources in a vain search for this ever-elusive real motive.
These officials adamantly refuse to admit that there is such a thing as Islamic jihad, or any mandate in Islamic scripture to kill or even mistreat Christians or other non-Muslims. And so they play this endless game of trying to explain jihad activity as something else, even if it takes them awhile to come up with what that something else might be. In this case, they’re telling the public that the attacker “may have been suffering from some form of disorder.”
And of course they’re right. He was suffering from some form of disorder. But that disorder is one that they are desperately afraid of naming for what it really is.
