The Media Can't Just Let Melania Trump Teach Kids the 'Golden Rule'

Acknowledging that they can’t just allow Melania Trump to “[recommit] ourselves to teaching the next generation to lead and honor the golden rule: ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you,’ which is my paramount in today’s society,” CNN decided to mock the First Family. John King successfully predicted what his liberally biased colleagues would say — “Critics immediately say, ‘What about your husband, the president?'” Immediately, Dana Bash responded, “Listening to her talk about, remember [sic.] our kids are watching and listening, remember that they need to follow our own examples. Those of us who have kids and can’t show them some of the re-tweets by the president of the United States because we don’t think it’s appropriate to condone hitting a golf ball at a former competitor and knocking them over, see that there’s more than a little bit of irony here. She should be commended, but come on.” Then Bash even said that maybe Melania was trying to communicate with her husband through television, reminding the president that their children were watching what he does. If Bash can use the phrase “come on,” then so can we. Melania is trying to actually do something about the online world our children live in. Maybe instead of chiding her, the mainstream media could just support her in these efforts. Come on!
