Thanks to all who joined us today. I will leave you with this:
The Democrats in this hearing are an ongoing cry for help. The good news is that they're still clueless about why they lost in November. I'm not even sweating the 2026 midterms right now.

I can hear Bernie Sanders screaming "Oligarchy" already.

My good friend Stephen Green has been writing about the woeful state of the Navy for years now.
Why 5 sets of 47? Seems like an odd number to settle on.
I didn't say that he was never drunk. He admitted that he had a problem. I was referring to numerous allegations throughout the years that were passed on as fact that were never backed up by more than a single source, despite occurring with a lot of people around. The sources were always disgruntled people who had professional bones to pick.
Sen. Sheehy: "How many push-ups can you do?"
"Senator, today I did five sets of 47."
Woof.
I bet that decision was heavily influenced by Crazy Tim Kaine's line of "questioning." He looked feral.
Depends which end they crack their eggs?
Bouncing around with different live feeds. CNBC is keeping the camera on Hegseth, which is almost certainly an attempt to deflect from the frothing animal vibe the Dems are exuding.
PETE HEGSETH: "We won WW2 with 7 four star generals. Today we have 44 four star generals... we don't need more bureaucracy at the top, we need more war fighters empowered at the bottom."

Since we're on the topic... Fun fact: Vice President-Elect Andrew Johnson was so drunk at Lincoln's second inauguration that he couldn't even swear in the new senators. You can read about that and more at 10 Unbelievable Stories From Presidential Inaugurations Past. #shamelessselfpromotion
Didn't General Sherman acknowledge it?
"Grant stood by me when I was crazy, and I stood by him when he was drunk, and now we stand by each other."
In fact, even the spy sent by the War Department during the Civil War admitted the allegations against him were untrue
By the way, Ulysses S. Grant's career was littered with single-sourced allegations of excessive drunkenness that were never corroborated by anyone else.
Kelly is now the senior midget from Arizona. Seriously, both of our senators are shorter than I am, and I'm only 5'9".
How many times will Reed bring up the number of rounds allowed in the past? Can we place bets?
Sen. Schmitt puts the number at 8,000 members of the military who were discharged over their vaccination status. Shameful.
Pete Hegseth just announced that thousands of troops who were fired over the "experimental" COVID vaccine will be "apologized to and reinstated with pay and rank."

Absolutely huge news.
These are some of the best troops we’ve ever had with unshakable courage to do what’s right. pic.twitter.com/3hntqFHC73
For the record, I think televised confirmation hearings are a monumental waste of time. It's all just so much preening for the cameras that does nothing to change the hearts, minds, or votes of the senators. Get the cameras out of the room or do the whole thing by writing. The "Hollywood for ugly people" pols in D.C. don't need any extra attention whore time.
In case you missed it, one of the best moments of the hearing so far:
JUST IN: Senator Markwayne Mullin calls out Senate Democrats for showing up to work drunk after they spent the morning citing reports claiming Pete Hegseth showed up to work drunk.
