Tom Holland, aka Spider-Man, just made the day of a bunch of sick children. Dressed as the superhero he portrays in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the actor visited some very brave little ones at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles who needed a bit of cheering up. Holland is the third Spider-Man in recent years (following Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield), and initiated his role in Captain America: Civil War. He is also set to appear as the building-climbing, web-shooting arachnid in a total of six Spider-Man films.

But perhaps the most important work he has done in the role was at Children’s Hospital. He went from one room to another, explaining to kids how his costume works. He even removed his mask to reveal his identity and answered plenty of questions.

Screenrant.com had this to say:

Just over a month out from the character’s first solo outing in the MCU, Holland is no doubt preparing for the media blitz that comes with prospective summer blockbusters. But, in a new video posted by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Holland is shown playing to a much smaller audience at the medical facility. During his visit, Holland removed his mask to reveal his true identity to young patients, whom he greeted with handshakes, high-fives and fist bumps. Holland even showed off some of his Spidey skills by doing a flip in the hallway for one girl, and demonstrated for a young boy how his web shooters work. He even set a young teen girl’s heart aflutter, who said, “Oh, you’re really cute,” to Holland after he peels off his Spidey mask.

Holland clearly loves the opportunity that’s been presented to him as the high school version of webslinger, and it’s easy to see in the video that he’s committed to sharing his enthusiasm with everybody – especially youngsters who need an encouraging break from the difficult challenges that life has brought to them at such an early age. Last year, in fact, Holland dressed up as Spider-Man when he visited Henrietta Egleston Hospital for Children in Atlanta, the city where Marvel Studios films some scenes for its MCU movies.

Other superheroes have also recently shared some goodwill. Chris Evans (Captain America) and Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt “teamed with Omaze to stage an escape room prank in an effort to raise funds for homes for families to say as their children undergo cancer treatment.”

Make sure you grab a tissue before watching the video of Holland visiting the children at the hospital. It’s almost too heart-warming to bear.
