The Mueller Rorshach test

Did you have time to read the Mueller report yet? The media and the Democrats sure are in a tizzy. The report is more than 400 pages, but the rocket scientists at CNN are superhuman speed readers. How did these crack journalists read the report in mere minutes?

The report found that there was no collusion (a fake crime) or conspiracy between the RUSSIANS and the Trump campaign and, on account of Mueller’s or “pit bull” Andrew Weissmann’s strange understanding that the president’s constitutional powers can be executed in an illegal manner, could not make the call on the obstruction issue.

I’ve been right all along about this entire special counsel fiasco. The report is a political document, not a legal one. If you did not buy into the false RUSSIA collusion narrative, you will read the second part of the report outlining the “obstructive” behavior of Trump as the actions of an angry man who was unjustly accused. You will see Trump’s behavior as that of someone who was getting absolutely pummeled all day and all night in the media and by Democrats who were making it impossible to for him to govern and were undermining his legitimacy as president. Trump wanted to stop the Democrat-media harassment, not cover up a crime. You may remember the #resistence’s plan was to delegitimize Trump and the goal of the Mueller team was to wait until the Democrats took control of the House to turn the report into a political weapon if they couldn’t charge the Trump folks with RUSSIA-related crimes.

One of the “possible” claims of obstruction is that Trump wanted Comey and other heads of the intelligence agencies to publicly announce he wasn’t personally under investigation, because he had been told numerous times he wasn’t personally under investigation. Are you kidding me? How is this obstruction? That’s just one element of the strange case made on the obstruction issue.

Additionally, when did the Mueller team determine there was no “RUSSIA collusion”? Why didn’t Mueller’s people immediately come out and announce their findings on such a serious charge? They let the possibility of an espionage cloud follow Trump around for as long as possible. Why?

Impeachment

The Democrats are going to have a conference call today to talk about the report and about impeachment. I support the Democrat efforts to impeach the president, as does my good friend Kurt Schlichter. If the Mueller report is as bad for Trump as the media and Democrats say it is, then they have no choice but to get rid of Trump, right?

The Democrats will not try and impeach Trump. Voters do not like impeachment and if they proceed, the Democrats will certainly lose the House and the presidency in the next election. Also, they will need to convince the public that Trump tried to cover up a crime he didn’t commit.

It’s more valuable for the Democrats to hold hearings that the media will gladly sensationalize. They will pretend that they are investigating the obstruction issue but taxpayers have dropped more than $25 million on an investigation already. What do the Democrats think they are going to find that the Mueller team and their resources did not? Resources like:

19 lawyers who were assisted by a team of approximately 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, forensic accountants, and other professional staff. The Special Counsel issued more than 2,800 subpoenas, executed nearly 500 search warrants, obtained more than 230 orders for communication records, issued almost 50 orders authorizing use of pen registers, made 13 requests to foreign governments for evidence, and interviewed approximately 500 witnesses.

It’s obvious the purpose of congressional hearings is to harass President Trump and the Republicans.

Sri Lanka Easter bombing round-up

Suicide bombers attacked Christians on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka.

Within a few hours on Sunday, suicide bombings hit three Catholic churches and three upscale hotels in the Indian Ocean island nation of Sri Lanka, still recovering from a quarter-century civil war in which the suicide bomb was pioneered.

The death toll in the attacks rose to 290, with about 500 people wounded, a police spokesman, Ruwan Gunasekera, said, although he would not give a breakdown of where the fatalities occurred. The finance minister, Mangala Samaraweera, called the attacks “a well-coordinated attempt to create murder, mayhem and anarchy.”

By day’s end, the police said at least 13 people had been arrested in connection with the attacks in the capital, Colombo, and the cities of Negombo and Batticaloa. Seven of them were seized at a hide-out after one suspect blew himself up, killing three officers.

The Sri Lankan government has identified the culprits. Surprise, surprise: “National Thowheeth Jama’ath, a little-known radical Islamic terror organization, for the attacks.”
