A Tale of Two Commanders in Chief

President Donald Trump delivered a powerful and unapologetically patriotic address to West Point graduates Saturday morning, celebrating American military strength and drawing a clear contrast between the bold leadership of his administration and the weak, divisive policies of the past. Under Trump, West Point has begun shedding the toxic influence of DEI ideology and returning to its core mission: producing warriors, not woke activists.

Naturally, that triggered the usual suspects on the left. What they rushed to smear as a “political rally” was, in truth, a much-needed reaffirmation of traditional American values—values that Trump has fought to restore at our nation’s most prestigious military institutions.

But what really sent the left into meltdown mode was Trump’s decision to wear his iconic red MAGA hat. That one simple gesture was enough to flood my X feed with leftists pretending to be outraged over “politicizing the military.” Spare me. These are the same people who cheered when Joe Biden delivered his unhinged anti-MAGA speech in 2022—standing in front of Independence Hall, bathed in ominous blood-red lighting, flanked by Marines like some dystopian dictator, declaring Trump supporters a “clear and present danger to our democracy.” It gave off vibes of a 1933 Hitler rally.

It never fails to amuse me how the left loves to play dress-up with patriotism—pretending to support the military while their actions say otherwise. The most laughable example came recently from leftist political strategist Chris Jackson, who still clings to a bizarre man-crush on Joe Biden, claiming with a straight face that Biden, not Trump, is the one who respects the military.

Really? This is the same Joe Biden who, in his desperate bid for a 9/11 anniversary photo op, set an arbitrary and unconditional withdrawal date from Afghanistan, giving the Taliban the upper hand. The result? A humiliating evacuation, thousands of Americans stranded, and the deaths of 13 U.S. service members.

And when their flag-draped coffins returned home, Biden showed up at Dover Air Force Base—but couldn’t even pretend to care. He was caught checking his watch multiple times during the dignified transfer ceremony, as if he had somewhere more important to be. Then, in what can only be described as tone-deaf narcissism, he repeatedly invoked his late son Beau—who, while a veteran, died of brain cancer, not on the battlefield. His remarks landed like a slap in the face to the grieving Gold Star families, who saw it for what it was: a selfish attempt to make their tragedy about him. That’s not respect—it’s disgrace.

And then there was Memorial Day 2024 at Arlington National Cemetery, a time to honor America’s fallen heroes—those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom. The scene was somber, with endless rows of white headstones standing as silent sentinels. But leave it to Joe Biden to steal the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Video footage caught him, eyes shut, head drooping, clearly dozing off, if not completely asleep.

That moment wasn’t just a viral embarrassment—it was a neon sign screaming what was coming. Just over a month later, Biden’s reelection campaign imploded.

So spare me the lectures about who “respects the military.” I’ll take Trump’s clear-eyed commitment to our armed forces over Biden’s hollow gestures and staged photo ops any day of the week. Trump honors our military not just in words, but in action—by rejecting woke ideology, standing with our troops, and treating their sacrifices with the dignity they deserve. Biden, on the other hand, couldn’t even stay awake long enough to fake it.
