Joe Biden has tried to be the president who both ended and avoided wars, and yet he keeps getting blood on his hands.
Ignoring the advice of his military advisors and driven by a desire for a victory photo op on 9/11, he opted for a hasty withdrawal from Afghanistan. Everything went wrong, the Taliban swiftly seized control, and 13 American service members lost their lives in a tragic terrorist attack at Kabul Airport.
This weekend, three American soldiers were killed and many more were wounded by an Iranian-backed drone strike in Jordan, a sad continuation of a disturbing trend under Biden.
"Today, America’s heart is heavy," Biden said in a statement Sunday. "Last night, three U.S. service members were killed—and many wounded—during an unmanned aerial drone attack on our forces stationed in northeast Jordan near the Syria border. While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq."
The outrage over how this happened was immediate.
"U.S. hostages still held in Gaza and now US troops are being killed and wounded in Jordan!” former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell noted on X/Twitter. "Biden and his team have ushered in multiple wars… after Donald Trump brought peace between Arabs and Israelis."
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) also blamed Biden for the attack.
“There have been over 100 attacks against U.S. forces in the region. Iran is undeterred,” Graham said. “I am sending my condolences to the families of our fallen heroes in Jordan. I am also wishing a full recovery to those injured. Our forces in Jordan and Syria are there to protect the American homeland and to provide stability in a troubled region. Their service and sacrifice will always be appreciated. They are true heroes.”
Graham also urged Biden to engage in "deterrence against future aggression."
“Until they pay a price with their infrastructure and their personnel, the attacks on U.S. troops will continue,” Graham warned.

"It was only a matter of time before Biden’s appeasement strategy towards Iran got American service-members killed," lamented Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) "Tragic and preventable."
Others have also called for retaliation, and Joe Biden has said the United States will respond.
But how exactly are we supposed to believe this? Joe Biden has been emboldening Iran since the first day of his presidency, wanting to resurrect the Obama-era Iran nuclear deal. Since then, he's repeatedly turned a blind eye to attacks on our troops. Biden released billions of Iranian assets last year, making it possible for Iran to finance the October 7 terrorist attacks on Israel. Meanwhile, nothing he's done has managed to deter the Iran-backed Houthis in the Red Sea. Many of us have been calling out Biden for his kowtowing to Iran, knowing that it was putting our nation and our troops in harm's way.
With the fresh blood on Biden's hands, I can't help but wonder why those on the left have supported and enabled his policies toward the terror-sponsoring state.
