Update 12:03 am: Officials in Uvalde now say that 19 children and two teachers were killed in the Tuesday massacre.
Update 7:25 pm: The casualty count continues to rise in today’s shooting. Fox News is reporting that there are now 18 children and one adult confirmed dead. The shooter is also deceased. It’s the deadliest primary school shooting in Texas history, and the second-deadliest in the U.S.
Update 4:54 pm: The news out of Texas gets more horrific by the minute. It is now being reported that 14 children and one teacher are dead in the Uvalde school shooting. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott identified the shooter as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, a student at the local high school.
According to reports, Ramos first killed his grandmother and then proceeded to the school, where he began shooting. He eventually barricaded himself in a room and was later killed by police.

Update 4:24 pm: KXAN is reporting that, tragically, two people have been killed in the school shooting:
Two people were killed and more than a dozen were taken to the hospital after an active shooter situation at a Texas elementary school Tuesday afternoon, NBC News reported.
Thirteen children were taken to the hospital, according to a Facebook post from Uvalde Memorial Hospital.
At least two hospitals are treating patients Tuesday after a shooter prompted a lockdown at a Robb Elementary School in Uvalde.
Update 3:15 pm: According to local reports, the shooter is in custody. There are no confirmed reports of injuries at this time.
Update 2:27 pm: CBS is reporting that a teacher has been shot:
A Texas teacher has been shot, prompting a district-wide lockdown, the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office told CBS News. Police later said that the shooter was in custody.
Texas law enforcement has determined there is an active shooter situation at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Information is scarce thus far.
Uvalde is located roughly 90 miles west of San Antonio and 70 miles east of the Del Rio border crossing town into Mexico.
One source claims via Twitter that a lone male shooter is involved.
There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary. Law enforcement is on site. Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus. As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared.
