MTV’s “16 and Pregnant” star Nikkole Paulun wrote a Facebook post demonstrating how even young moms are capable of teaching their children values. In her post, Paulun talks about how she and her 6-year-old son spend quality time together. Her goals are simple and old-school: wanting to teach her son good manners and respect for others. Paulun shared that she’s been treated poorly in the past by men saying, “The reason I started the dinner dates was because of the fact that I had been treated poorly in the past. I see so many girls I know get treated badly, and I wanted to make sure my son didn’t grow up to be like that. I suggested we start doing mommy-son dates and he loved the idea, and still does.”
The post has been shared over 500,000 times and has over 2.7 million ‘likes’. In a society where chivalry, respect, and manners are all but been extinct, it’s refreshing to see a mom doing her job. We wholeheartedly agree with Paulun that, “It’s never too early to teach your child how to properly respect others, especially women.”
