PAST PERFORMANCE IS NO GUARANTEE OF FUTURE RESULTS:

Shot: To end fatphobia, we need to dismantle Western civilization, says Philly therapist Sonalee Rashatwar.

—Headline, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Wednesday.

Chaser: See ‘Fed Up,’ the film that does not sugarcoat the obesity epidemic.

—Headline, The Philadelphia Inquirer, April 24, 2014.

First headline found via David Thompson, who writes, “Ms Rashatwar has chosen to blame her own health issues, including high blood pressure, on ‘weight stigma’ and ‘white supremacy,’ rather than on her size and prodigious eating habits. When not equating routine health advice with eugenics and ‘Nazi science,’ Ms Rashatwar, a self-described ‘donut queen,’ claims that ‘diet culture and fat phobia are forms of sexual violence.’”

Now properly chastised, I’m sure the Inquirer will try to do better, going forward.
