JOHN STEELE GORDON: If You Can’t Stand the Heat . . . Harry Truman would have had little patience for the notion that caustic political rhetoric causes murder. Our current generation of politicians is much weaker, and much more thin-skinned, and vastly more endowed with a sense of entitlement, than in Truman’s day.
