The Biggest Independent Journalism Story of Our Time Is Unfolding in Minnesota

Mohamed Sheikh Nor

The headline is my attempt at getting out ahead of the story.

In case you missed it, here’s the story. It runs about 45 minutes.

This is most likely the single biggest story ever covered by an independent journalist. In one video alone, Nick Shirley has exposed over $100 million in fraud. I suspect he's merely scratched the surface on the story.

Keep in mind, this is right in the back yard. of the big paper in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Star Tribune, a paper with far more in the way of resources to lean on than Mr. Shirley could ever hope to field. They can’t be bothered. Or perhaps they're shielding us from something. As you can imagine (and I suspect some viewers can see) the video has had over 1 million views so far. You can imagine why. Nobody, including the Tribune, is covering the story well enough.

Even today, a quick look at the Tribune’s website isn’t even touching on what is likely the biggest story to come along in decades. Oh, they do mention, a few pages in, that Minnesota’s immigration cases are increasingly held in secret. But beyond that, their biggest front page story is how Hormel workers went on strike 40 years ago.

The reference to that story is not an idle one. You see, 40 years ago, exactly the kind of leg work that Shirley is doing in that video  is what journalists used to do, and would be doing it now if it didn’t involve two favored groups: Democrats like Tim Walz, and Somali immigrants.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the DOJ is all over what Shirley has uncovered.

Meanwhile, the Gateway Pundit's

Shirley responded to Walz in an interview on Fox News saying,“”Tim wants VOTES. There are entire apartment complexes where White people have been pushed out of these apartment complexes because Somalis have taken over and they’re inside of these towns like Minneapolis – where they can go and go get votes from these people!”

“And if you have 100,000 people that will vote for you because you’re going to enable and let this stuff happen and because you’re going to call White person racist for calling out facts, this is what’s going to happen to a state like Minnesota.”

Well, yeah, if you're robbing Peter, and Paul benefits, you're not going to get any complaints from Paul, right?

It gets better. Walz’s lieutenant governor adds to the clown show:

An investigative report by Ryan Thorpe and Chris Rufo reveals details on how American taxpayers in Minnesota are helping to fund terrorists in Somalia. As one report puts it: “The largest funder of Al-Shabaab is the Minnesota taxpayer.”

You would think this might get the attention of the Tribune, but no soap.

It gets still worse:

Oh, and catch this act:

The level of fraud, and now the level of coverup, seems bottomless. Obviously, this is a developing story and writing about it is like trying to hit a moving target. What is interesting to me is the dearth of Democrats on social media claiming that all of this is nonsense and that none of it is actually happening. That alone pushes the credibility of what coverage there is up several notches.

Now, where's that popcorn popper?
