America’s (former) favorite celebrity couple is back in the news, and not for a good reason. Angelina Jolie has accused Brad Pitt of not providing ample child support for the couple’s six children. Pitt, on the other hand, has filed court documents refuting this fact.

According to USA Today, “Pitt’s attorneys refute her claim, stating that the actor has loaned Jolie $8 million for her current Los Angeles residence and has paid over $1.3 million in bills for her and their six children.” In a typical he said/she said situation, Pitt accuses team Jolie of dragging the matter into the media to paint the actor in a bad light with the public. But the actress is claiming that the $8 million Pitt paid was a loan to cover the cost of a new home and that he is charging her interest.

As for the $1.3 million Pitt has paid in child support, it is apparently not sufficient to cover the 50 percent that Jolie is asking of her former husband. In a statement to USA Today, Jolie’s lawyer, Samantha Bley DeJean, said: “Angelina has had to shoulder the majority of those without his contribution for the past two years. Child support is not optional in California. Typically a father of means would pay these expenses voluntarily without the need for a request or court order. We are hopeful that this can be resolved without further delay or posturing.”

As of today, the marriage between the two superstars is not officially dissolved, and both parties have made motions with the court to officially move forward in that area.

Pitt and Jolie got together following the breakup of Pitt and his former wife, Jennifer Aniston, in 2005. Together they have three adopted children and three biological children.
