The Pride of Modern Marxists and How CS Lewis Exposed Their Sin

Modern Marxists are immeasurably arrogant — they suffer from swollen heads to such a degree that they set themselves up as a sort of deities. Pride was the sin by which fell the angels, and it is no mistake that they fell down. As C.S. Lewis observed, pride’s direction is always downwards.

Pride was the original sin of angels (Lucifer) and men (Adam and Eve). As Proverbs 16:18 warns, “Pride goeth before destruction.” Why? Because pride means that an angel or man looks down upon his fellow creatures and perceives all the ways in which he is or believes himself to be superior. He forgets to look up to God and perceive the infinite divine superiority. Of all the evils which the globalist leftists practice in our own day, I think we can say truly that pride is the root cause of them all. It is why they talk of reshaping entire ecosystems, altering DNA, defying biology, and manufacturing godlike super-intelligence.

Today is the anniversary of the 1898 birth of Anglo-Irish writer C.S. Lewis. And in his chapter of Mere Christianity called “The Great Sin,” Lewis explained how pride blinds a man to reality, most especially the reality that he is a dependent creation:

The vice I am talking of is Pride or Self-Conceit: and the virtue opposite to it, in Christian morals, is called Humility...In God you come up against something which is in every respect immeasurably superior to yourself. Unless you know God as that--and, therefore, know yourself as nothing in comparison--you do not know God at all. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you are looking down, you cannot see something that is above you.

Too many of our leaders have a god complex now. For example, in 2023, World Economic Forum (WEF) stooge Yuval Harari eagerly predicted AI’s potential as “superhuman intelligence” to “write a new Bible,” to compose an entirely new “holy book.” He also labeled a hypothetical AI chatbot as “supernatural.” Likewise, in 2010, Bil Gates openly advocated for reducing global population by 10% to 15% in a TED Talk.

Also, Bill Gates and other climate alarmists, including Elon Musk and George Soros, aim to block the sun to stop nonexistent climate change (actually, warming temperatures are beneficial for ecosystems, and plentiful sunlight is necessary for food crops). In 2023, John Kerry told a WEF conference it was “extraterrestrial” that such a “select group of human beings” had gathered together to engage in “saving the planet.”

And speaking of Soros, in his 1987 book, The Alchemy of Finance, he wrote, “I have always harboured an exaggerated view of my self-importance. To put it bluntly, I fancied myself as some kind of god or an economic reformer like Keynes, or, even better, like Einstein.”

Not all the globalists are so frank about their god complexes as Soros was, but they are all as arrogant. The examples are multitudinous. Joe Biden and Karine Jean-Pierre asserted all children are “our kids,” the elites such as Gavin Newsom, who broke all their own COVID lockdown restrictions, proposed baby growing “factories,” and the Chinese Communist tyrants who said they are the center of the world.

Abortion, AI, climate alarmism, socialism… it’s all part of the fanatical globalist confidence in their own intelligence and power. From Karl Marx to Klaus Schwab, and from Lenin to Barack Obama, the Marxists are so busy looking down they never realize how despicable they themselves are. They love to play with millions of lives, to order the peasants about, to bask in their own power. But as William Shakespeare might warn them, beware of overweening pride, for by that sin fell the angels.
