The United Nations (UN) is again displaying gross hypocrisy, bloviating on peace and ending racial discrimination while simultaneously supporting Palestinian jihadis and their war against Israel.
The United Nations member countries just adopted a text in honor of the 25th anniversary of its Declaration on Culture of Peace. To quote William Shakespeare, the UN text is “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing.”
Not only is UN agency UNRWA infested with and controlled by terrorists, but Western and Muslim nations alike in the UN also regularly and falsely smear Israel while siding with the Gazans. Until the UN is ready to acknowledge the reality of Islamic jihad, responsible for multiple ongoing conflicts and genocides around the world, it can save its breath on “peace.”
“‘Make Peace More Profitable Than War,’ General Assembly Hears,” the May 2 press release from the UN began. Ironically, the release reported that representatives of both Bahrain and Mauritania specifically cited Gaza in demanding peace and humanitarian aid during the discussions. The representatives bewailed the Gazans’ situation but never mentioned the horrors Hamas inflicted on Israel.
Gaza is run by terrorist Hamas and the terrorism-incentivizing Palestinian Authority (PA). These entities have spent decades rejecting offers of their own state in favor of trying to obliterate Israel and massacre Jews — it is their openly avowed goal to refuse peace and wage Islamic holy war.
The UN press release, full of meaningless jargon, began, “As speakers discussed the importance of collective efforts to promote a culture of peace in a world torn by conflict and crisis, the General Assembly today adopted a draft resolution in pursuit of that goal, in addition to draft texts on a variety of other topics.”
The release then quoted or summarized the comments of various members on the matter, including the above mentioned sob stories about Gaza, where nearly three-fourths of Palestinians still support Hamas and its Oct. 7 attack.
Multiple representatives pontificated on racism and racial or religious discrimination while demanding censorship. Bahrain’s representative, for instance, called “for the adoption of an international convention to criminalize religious or racial hate speech.” Venezuela’s representative, meanwhile, on behalf of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, demanded the UN not be “mistakenly justifying racism, racial discrimination and hate speech by invoking the freedom of expression.”
Aside from the obvious free speech concerns, these calls for religious and racial tolerance are remarkably hypocritical in light of UN empathy for Gaza, which is controlled by racist Islamic fundamentalists.
The Gazans want to genocide Jews and have long persecuted both Jews and Christians. Yet the UN continues to defend its UNRWA agency despite exposés on the agency’s Hamas ties in Gaza. I previously explained:
[I]nternational human rights lawyer Hillel Neuer accused UNRWA of being “terrorism-infested.” The attorney has extensivedocumentation to support his arguments, as he has been reporting on UNRWA terror ties for nine years. Israel’s Defense Minister accused 12 UN staffers of active participation in the horrific Oct. 7 attack on Israelis, while around 30 more staffers participated in such activities as looting and taking hostages.
A top UN official even asserted in February that Hamas is “not a terrorist organization”!
The UN is complicit in egregious crimes of racial and religious discrimination, and it is also a supporter of a group that has spent decades refusing peace in favor of jihad (the Gazans). To quote Shakespeare again, the UN is no more than a “great stage of fools.”
