An Israeli hostage confirmed how pervasive is terrorist Hamas’s power and support in Gaza among men, women, and children. It’s a warning to the West to wake up to the reality of radical Islam.
Mia Shem discussed the horrors of her captivity in Gaza in a recent interview, a few weeks after her release. “Everyone there is a terrorist,” she said of Gaza. As I have repeatedly emphasized here on PJ Media, the overwhelming majority of “Palestinians” support jihad against Israel, even the children. Shem is confirming that fact through her own tragic experience. She called her nightmare in Gaza a “Shoah,” a Holocaust.
JNS covered Shem’s TV interviews on Dec. 28. “Entire families are under Hamas. I realized I was staying with a family. I started to ask myself, why am I in a family home? Why are there children here? Why is there a wife here?” Shem said. She recalled the horror of the Supernova music festival from which she was kidnapped. “The floor was splattered with blood and I yelled in pain, ‘I lost my arm!'” She added that a Hamas jihadi “started touching the upper part of my body. Suddenly, someone grabbed my hair, pulled me in a car and drove to Gaza. I felt like an animal in a zoo.”
Shem had actually received a bullet wound in her hand. While she was in Gaza, she was featured in a propaganda video, but unsurprisingly the reality was different from the lie Hamas tried to promote about providing treatment for captives. “There was an operation room. No anesthesia, no nothing. I was choking on my own tears. Then he looked at me and said, ‘Enough, or I’ll send you down to the tunnel,'” Shem said of the operation a veterinarian performed on her. Hundreds of people were massacred at the festival from which Shem was kidnapped, including women brutally raped to death.
We should care about what happened to Mia Shem not only because it is tragic that she had to endure such abuse from jihadis, but because it could happen to us as well. Shem’s comments about the level of “civilian” involvement with Hamas tally with plenty of other evidence, as JihadWatch noted; nor is the Palestinian Authority (PA) much better, as it funnels hundreds of millions of dollars into its funding of terrorists and their families. Both the PA and Hamas are jihad entities, and most Palestinians are jihadis or pro-terrorism too. But the jihadi mindset isn’t limited to Muslims in Gaza.
Lebanese-American and ACT for America chairwoman Brigitte Gabriel previously issued a warning to Americans based off her own experience surviving terrorism in Lebanon. She noted that Lebanon was once a prosperous and peaceful country. “Lebanon was the only Christian-majority nation in the Middle East,” Gabriel said. “It’s where I was born. We prided ourselves on inclusivity. Always welcoming Arab Muslim refugees from all over the Middle East.“ As Muslims became the majority, the country was transformed into a jihadi-plagued nightmare. It was the Israelis who rescued Gabriel from Islamic terrorism.

But as Muslim migrants pour across our open southern border, thank to Joe Biden’s disastrous policies, the U.S. could face the same fate as Lebanon. Gabriel warned, “Now here in America, my adopted country that I have come to love so much, I see the same threats and warning signs happening now that took place in Lebanon when I was a child.”
“This is my warning to you, America, reverse course now while you still can,” Gabriel concluded. “It’s not too late to save our freedom and preserve it for the next generation.” We had better pay attention to Gabriel and Shem if we don’t want to suffer the Islamic terrorism from which they suffered.
