The Tatler has obtained exclusive video from today’s Fast and Furious protest in Washington. As the protesters, mostly students, chant “Hey hey ho ho! Eric Holder’s got to go!” and “Fire Holder!” the Secret Service shuts the protest down, citing a “suspicious package” that turned out to be something left behind by a tourist on the White House grounds. The protest was outside White House grounds on the opposite side of the perimeter fence.
But authorities did more than merely shut the protest down. As you can see in the video, after the protest is told to move away, a bicycle-mounted police officer tells the videographer that he must stop recording and move away.
Here is a transcription of the videographer’s exchange with the officer
OFFICER: Turn around and go all the way to the white pillars. Sir, get up and walk this way please.
VIDEOGRAPHER: Where am I going?
OFFICER: Sir, stop filming and walk all the way down to the white pillars.
VIDEOGRAPHER: Why do I have to stop filming?
OFFICER: Huh?
VIDEOGRAPHER: Why do I have to stop?
OFFICER: Why do you have to stop?
VIDEOGRAPHER: Um-hum.
OFFICER: I told you to stop, so keep moving.
