Reid: Shutdown will prevent Americans from walking down the National Mall or something

The Dingy One just spoke. He just said that people plan to come to Virginia all year to enjoy the cherry blossoms this weekend, and a government shutdown will ruin their plans. They won’t be able to walk down the National Mall (which is in DC, not Virginia) if the government shuts down.

I used to live in that area, and enjoyed the cherry blossoms just about every year. Anyone can happily walk down the National Mall anytime they want, rain or shine, millions of cherry blossoms or none, whether the government is running or not. There’s no price of admission, no gatekeeper to keep anyone locked out. It’s free space, as Reid well knows.

Sen. Reid is, once again, lying to demagogue the shutdown. His own Senate hasn’t done anything at all about passing a federal budget, and that’s under Reid’s watch. He’s the failure here.
