Great list from the WSJ, including “push the envelope,” “de-layering,” “passionate.”

The one I didn’t see on there but would make the top of my list is “synergy.” Synergy is the word used when one company wants to buy another company but doesn’t have a good reason why.

Yeah, "synergy" is so over-used it's ridiculous. The pity is that there are times when it is an astonishingly suitable word. Unfortunately, most people haven't a clue as to why to use it, so they therefore have no idea when to use it.
