California Tumbles into the Sea

July 10th, 2013 - 6:22 am

Everybody from Paul Krugman on up has been praising Jerry Brown’s big, fat budget surplus in California this year — but Thomas Del Beccaro shows it’s all just smoke and mirrors. Surprised? Yeah, me neither. What will blow your mind however is this bit:

The new budget, which includes a call for an increase in spending of 26.2% over the next four years, ignores the Legislative Analyst’s advice.

Sacramento raided its own cap & trade fund, has no plans to pay back $10,000,000,000 it owes to Washington (that’s to you and me, comrade), and has unfunded liabilities in the trillion-dollar range. And yet those spendthrift whores still plan on jacking up spending on top of their moribund economy by over 25% in just four years.

The worst part is, California — home to 11% of the US population and already 33% of our welfare cases — is big enough to take down the whole nation when it finally implodes.

Just stage a red carpet free concert to raise awareness for reducing the carbon footprint of our ethnically diverse disability access policy for single parent mothers.

And then blow up the bridges and nuke San Mateo. Problem solved, and we still have the Napa Valley and Tahoe.

I'm way late to this thread, but I was thinking of a variation of that. The bankruptcy judge or whoever should insist on splitting California into everything that isn't LA/San Francisco and everything that is. Let the rest of us go our free and prosperous way, and ground the two big blue cities until they either learn to balance a checkbook or they just leach out all their industries to California Roja and implode.

I've been wondering, just how much do you think it take to get Mexico to take CA back?

I can't help it just the thought of those screams of indignation rising from Hollywood and Sacramento tickles me.

If immigration, legal and voting patterns continue, Mexico will have taken CA back by 2030. But w/o all the debt and liability which they will still be able to pawn off on DC. Who will be happy to take it.
