No, Headstart is a successful taxpayer funded program for babysitters.
The money has been better spent than Obama’s Stimulus program for China(Chrysler). Unlike the $535 million sugar daddy payback to Solyndra which rewarded the ultra-rich and pushed workers to unemployment, Headstart actually boosts employment. It raises the early education educators’ self esteem, keeps them from the unemployment and “disability” lines; provides a safe environment and playgroups for little mites, gets them out of their parent’s hair.
The taxpayers have to pay either Headstart and other make-work govt. programs, or the unemployment/disability benefits. Why fuss over a 0.000000000? percent of the federal budget?
The problem with conservatives is they don’t understand the truth behind what they saw. Most govt. programs are taxpayers funded programs to buy votes for sitting politicians. The politicians need them.
