I take it next Friday will be something about the New York Dolls. One can only hope.
iTunes hasn’t dished up any Dolls for me in a long while. Guess I’d better do the job myself.

First glam rock band, Iron Maiden, Queen, Kiss were several years behind.
I liked Pretenders too. Right up to the moment she viciously insulted the entire population of Knoxville, Tn, while on stage at World’s Fair park, for being “…a bunch of meat eating rednecks. Disgusting.” The reason? She hated the smell from the BBQ pit.
She came to the South, took our money, and insulted our culture. It was amazing how many people left before her set was done.
Yeah. She lost my vote when she told a crowd she hoped the Muslims kicked our soldiers’ asses in Iraq, just when the Second Gulf War started. I don’t mind people being against the war. But I draw the line at statements like that.
Too bad, mixing music with Politics. Always held this particular band few notches above and always enjoyed their music. I also have several t-shirts and all their LPs signed by the original band members, but it is the first time I heard Pretenders berated their fans. Sad, really.
They lost me when they wished death on our troops, but I console myself with the fact they are inextricably linked to Rush through his opening bumper music. lol
