The ten worst predictions for 2008.
Here is my prediction for 2009:
Failing to notice that fuel efficiency has declined the past several years as gasoline prices have risen, the media will notice that fuel efficiency falls when gas prices fall this winter. They will totally ignore that fuel efficiency declines in winter due to the weather and that this year’s winter has been and is expected to be especially harsh.
Fuel efficiency always declines in winter.
My prediction for 2009: the mass-delusional news media will continue to peddle its increasingly surreal concept of reality while its industry implodes around it.
Sadly, the collapse of that industry will be the only visible sign that the American people are even marginally aware of the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party they’ve been witnessing on the alphabet networks and in the pages of major daily newspapers, as all opinion polls will be pretty much in accord with the media’s depiction of events.
365 days from now, more and more of us will be contemplating joining in the mass insanity rather than continuing vainly to insist that the sky is still blue and the earth still revolves around the sun (not Obama).
I predicted here that McCain would win handily in PA, and go on to squeak out an electoral win nation wide.
Oh, and I thought the Dow would be back over 10,000 by late December.
So I put about $30k in the market in October and early November.
Hope I don’t need that cash anytime soon….
