Notice/Sorry About That

[Bumped] The comment spam is getting out of control, and my spam-catcher, Akismet, sucks.
So I’m forced to do something I’ve resisted for years. Sorry, but if you want to comment, you’ll have to register. Fake email addresses will work just fine — I won’t make you jump through any hoops of fire just to leave comments.
Again, my apologies, but the spambots are more than I can manage even with Akismet’s lousy help, and I know I’m killing legit comments along with the bad stuff.

Tried using spamkarma2 yet?
Even though the original author dropped it, others are picking up the project. And I wrote a plugin for it that (http://pirate-king.com/episode/2441) that any comments that are definitely spam are automatically just deleted.
Since then, I only get one comment spam in the queue every coupla days, while I see hundreds of attempts.
No worries. Worth the effort.
On my WordPress site, the combination of Akismet + Bad Behavior catch almost all comment spam. I’ve been using them together for more than a year now and I almost never get false positives or false negatives.
I agree with Steve; no big deal.
Now, if I could get WordPress to display my name, instead of my username, I’d be happy
