“A strong military… and strong alliances.”
What use are alliances, when our allies goal is to hamstring us?
And how does that square with Kerry’s promise a minute ago never to “ask permission” before going to war?
With apologies to McGehee. A long ramble about this ridiculous speech shall follow. John Kerry asks us to judge him…
re: our alliances…
For the most part, Old Europe doesn’t have the strength to project themselves much beyond their borders.
It’s like those people who can’t be without a girlfriend/boyfriend.
Classic Kerry straddle, trying to have it both ways.
The bit about never sending troops in without a plan to ‘win the peace’ was amusing, too.
Could “winning the peace” mean sitting down with Osama and talking it out. “If you won’t hit me again, then I won’t hit you back….OK Osama?”
