I really, really want to fisk the latest hate-filled crap from Harold Meyerson. But I’ve been drinking wine tonight instead of vodka, and I’m much too into the whole Thanksgiving spirit.
So instead, I’ll give you a little to go on. . .
It’s time again to overeat and commemorate the Pilgrims coming to these shores to build their democratic theocracy and share some grub with the natives. The natives, we all know, didn’t make out so well as the European conquest progressed, but that, at least, was then.
Or was it? In fact, right now, in the opening years of the 21st century, Europeans are still coming here to exploit the American workforce.
The irony is that these European-based global enterprises are the kind of model corporate citizen over there that has all but vanished over here. In Europe, they pay their workers decently, tend to health and safety concerns and actually encourage their employees to unionize.

More anti-American drivel. So the Europeans are evil when they come to the New World and create the freest society in human history (hundreds of millions, even billions, served since 1776) but the Europeans are saints when they propagate the ideology (socialism) that has given us the greatest mass murders in history. When you venture to the Left, you enter a bizarro world where freedom is slavery and slavery, freedom.

I don’t know if “sad” or “lame” describes this piece better. My assessment is: “how did the Times actually see fit to publish this nonsensical drivel?”
I have something to be thankful for…that I’m not as pathetic and hate-filled as this loser. Tidings of good cheer and a swift kick in the groin. Or at least a decent 12 step program…sheesh.
I think the relative health of our economy vs. that of the Europeans speaks for itself. It’s remarkable what you can accomplish when private enterprise isn’t just an extension of the nanny state.
