Just One Hour, Honest

If you’ll excuse me, I have to go indulge my inner geek and watch the first hour of my new Children of Dune DVD set.

YM “Dune Messiah”. HTH. ;^)
-the Dune Messiah / Children of Dune cycle is two books structured in the wrong way. They should have been written: a much more focused Dune Messiah, with mere references to the longer story.
-Oh, that longer story is a corker. You’re going to love it. It is a classical tragedy in the best tradition (although you may need a few bits of Dune to get the full impact). I’m not giving anything away – it’s up to you to *find* it. There will be $$ galore for the producer who also finds it and writes it up for the big screen. Pity that Herbert mixed up the first third with the Dune Messiah book, though.
-I was so annoyed they couldn’t find the original actor to play Duncan Idaho again! Damn them to the deepest pits of hell! (Sorry, I read all the books and at too impressionable an age.)
-I’m glad they got a different Lady Jessica; the original looked too young as it is. But why not someone who looked more like the original? Say, Kathleen Turner or Rebecca DeMornay. Fewls.
are you a scifi fan in general?
