I almost forgot this week
I haven’t had beef stroganoff in ages and I happened to take meat out of the freezer this morning with the intention of making stew. Guess I’ll try this recipe instead.
I’m gonna try it too, but I’ll sautee the mushrooms after I take the beef out.
Quicker, dirtier, and I swear to god, delicious: use the basic ingredients (beef, sour cream, mushrooms) but instead of all that beef broth and cognac nonsense, you fry up the beef and mushroom and then cover with (bear with me) a combination of ketchup and Heinz chili sauce. After that’s hot, put in the sour cream and you’re done. I have no idea why it works, but it’s the best damn Beef stroganoff you ever ate. Midwestern cooking at it’s finest.
