What Needs To Be Said
From BigWig at Silfray Hraka:
This is America, so David Duke is allowed to say whatever insane venom comes to his mind. And when when he does open up the shithole he calls a mouth, we publicly reject him. Whether they think racist thoughts or not, white politicians aren’t allowed to openly spout racist hatred, and when they do, they get a good smacking, and their career is over. You know why? Because, when it comes down to it, we expect better things from a white person.
To allow Representative McKinney to say what he said about Jews without publicly punishing him in the same manner as we punish David Duke is to hold the same attitudes the ranch hands held in Of Mice and Men. No one who is not a racist would tell him to his face that he’s just an ignorant nigger, but to let his anti-Semitic ravings go by without a word is to treat him like one. Until all of us demand the same standards of behavior from black politicians that we demand from white politicians, we will still be judging people on the color of their skin, and not on the content of their character.
I didn’t bother with that part of the McKinney story for the same reason I never bothered with Duke, and stopped bothering with Pat Buchanan during Desert Shield: Simple antisemitism is usually best ignored.
But we know that’s excuse doesn’t work for the media, who (quite rightly) pounce on right wing nutcases at every opportunity.
So why did Bill McKinney get a by on this?

Ummmm, ..because he’s black?…?
and because the liberal, I mean progressive , media think that it might be racial criminal profiling to talk about the Black Caucus Membership activities lately?
Naaaahhhh. THAT would be racist
. . . because anti-Semitism, being popular with the Euro tranzis, is a hallmark of the crapulent ideology of the media class.
Jesse “Hymie Town” Jackson is all over the place in the media and was given his own show on CNN at one point.
Because antisemitism is becoming more and more acceptable, not just with the Euros but with the mainstream American media. Racism against blacks–bad. Racism against Arabs–bad. Racism against Jews-where do we sign up?
Because the liberal media is deeply beholden to the Marxist view that it’s all about power. They want rich whitey to be brought down a notch or three, and, if low blows help do that, so be it, because there really is no such thing as a low blow (Marx kicking in here) since “low” is just a convention set by The Man. We’re talking about mindless envy, rage, and nihilism, shared by Billy McKinney and white lefty journalist.
It’s not anti-semitism. It’s white people being afraid to criticize blacks.
I think liberal media types (and non-liberals) have contempt for Billy McKinney. But they’re abiding by a patronizing code that says blacks aren’t really grown-ups so their racism/anti-Semitism doesn’t count.
I don’t know, but whatever the reason is, it sure makes “Jews control the Media” arguments that much harder to make. Somehow, I’m sure antisemites will find a way anyhow.
Of course! He’s black.
Black people can’t be racist because they have no power.
Right?
Well, that’s what Congresswoman McKinney and her father State Rep McKinney told me.
I think Rev. Jackson apologized for “hymietown.” If one assumes that the national black leadership has heard of McKinney’s remarks, and I see no reason not to think so, then as a whole they are racist as well, as there have been no condemnations from that corner.
That’s not too surprising when you consider that their continuation in power depends on their ability to perceive racism in the established order. The harder you look at others, the less you see yourself. I doubt anyone has ever dared to call Rev. Jackson a racist to his face, but I’d like to see the videotape of his reaction.
When Jackson shakes someone down or C. McKinney takes a cheap shot at The Man, and the media lets it pass, which is more plausible?:
1. The media is racist, thinks blacks subhuman, and therefore incapable of not saying such stupid things.
or
2. The media is willing to tolerate a little dirty fighting on the part of the side that is clearly the good one fighting for what’s right, the oppressed, the deserving of a piece of smug whitey (whitey who has so much wealth and power that most of his blows automatically count as low blows anyway).
My money’s on #2.
Someone called Jackson “Sharpton” to his face though. I think Indepundit was the one who caught it. Classic reaction from what I hear.
I think Joanne has it just about right.

I am always horrified when blacks express ANY anti-Semitism, considering the most prominent non-black supporters of Civil rights were brave Jewish men and women who marched in the front lines alongside Dr. King; who wrote brilliant essays and editorials and pamphlets supporting Civil Rights; and who used whatever political and economic power they possessed to push for the passage of Civil Rights legislation. If there’s one group of people in this country who have shown great solidarity with the cause of African-Americans, it is Jewish-Americans.
It is reprehensible–make that sickening– to think otherwise.
Don’t expect the local media (the Atlanta Journal & Constitution) to pounce on that type of stuff. They were too busy endorsing both McKinneys over the years to criticize their actual rhetoric.
I think Nick’s right that it’s anti-Semitism. “White people being afraid to criticize blacks” might account for not saying a word about Daddy McKinney’s filth… but it doesn’t account for the attacks on Denise Majette, also a black woman, for taking “Jewish money”. (Particularly when McKinney’s much larger contributions from non-Georgian Arab-Americans and Arab organizations go unmentioned.) The inference the media wants their vict\\\\viewers to draw is clear: the “Jewish lobby” controlled this election.
If it were white timidity, Majette would not be criticized – instead, the media would be taking a hands-off approach to the whole controversy to avoid criticizing a black politician.
