Joe Biden (!) Addresses Sexual Assault at University of Illinois

At a rally at the University of Illinois on Thursday, Vice President Joe Biden spoke to a crowd of approximately 300 about the important role men play in speaking out about sexual assaults on college campuses.

Given that  “sexual assault” is defined by feminists  to include unwanted “grabbing,” you might wonder if the vice president is the best spokesman for the issue.

Biden commended survivors for their courage when speaking out about their assaults and encouraged everyone, especially men, on campus to break the silence surrounding sexual assault.

“There is no time, no circumstance, beyond self defense when a man has the right to raise his hand to a woman, period. That’s the standard,” Biden said. “And any time consent is not given or cannot be given, it is sexual assault.”

Male and female survivors of sexual assault shared their stories before the official remarks.

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan also spoke at the “It’s On Us” rally.

“If somebody tells you they’ve been a victim of sexual assault, I want you to believe them,” Madigan said, prompting this response from Instapundit on Twitter:
