I know we should be empathetic about British MP George Galloway being assaulted on a London street.

But I hope you’ll forgive me if I reserve my sympathy for those who deserve it — like Israeli civilians who live under constant threat of attack from Hamas rockets and terrorists.

Galloway is a nauseating anti-Semite who once told Saddam Hussein during a speech he gave in Iraq, “Sir, I salute your courage, your strength, your indefatigability.” He blamed British policy for the 7/7 terrorist attack that killed 52 Britons. He said a suicide attack on then Prime Minister Tony Blair without any other casualties would be “morally justified.” He says that gays and lesbians are not at risk for execution in Iran, “only rapists.” Several more knowledgeable commentators sharply corrected him.

More recently, he walked out of a debate over Israeli policy sponsored by Oxford University because his debate opponent was an Israeli citizen. His explanation:“I don’t recognize Israel and I don’t debate with Israelis.” Even the BDS committee he represents condemned his action.

Yes, we should condemn the attack and the attacker. No matter how vile this man is, no one in a decent society deserves to be beaten up for their political views.

Nor is it proper to say that Galloway brought the attack on himself, even though he declared the North England city he represents an “Israeli-free zone.”

A man has been charged with a religiously-motivated “assault by beating” on British MP George Galloway, police said on Saturday.

Galloway, who recently declared the northern English city he represents an “Israel-free zone”, was attacked on a west London street on Friday night.

Police said Neil Masterson, 39, had been charged with “assault by beating which is religiously aggravated” and would appear in court on Monday.

“It is thought that the attack is connected to Mr Galloway’s support for the Palestinian cause,” his Respect Party said in a statement.

The outspoken Scot, dubbed “Gorgeous George” by the British media, recently made headlines when he declared Bradford to be an Israel-free zone and urged people to reject all Israeli goods, services and tourists.

A Respect spokesman said the incident appeared to be connected with Israel because the attacker had been shouting something about the Holocaust.

Some western¬† supporters of Hamas and the Palestinians may be sincere when they claim to be anti-Zionists or anti-Israel rather than anti-Semitic. Given Galloway’s appalling record and statements, I don’t see how you can make that claim about him.

Case in point: his statement about making Bradford an “Israeli-free” zone:

We have declared Bradford an Israel-free zone. We don’t want any Israeli goods, we don’t want any Israeli services, we don’t want any Israeli academics coming to the university or the college, we don’t even want any Israeli tourists to come to Bradford.

His words call to mind the spirit of Nuremberg and the decrees against Jews in Nazi Germany.

Galloway has been released from the hospital, and we should wish him a speedy recovery. We should then destroy him the democratic way: find a good candidate to run against him and bash his brains in at the polls. He’s a disgrace to Great Britain and to decent people everywhere.

Hey Rick: I'm not finished with you, Sir. Just finished reading another Rotherham account. In a UK where such depravities are allowed to happen by a governing class which has contempt for its own people, what else was a decent man like Masterson to do but beat the living sh*t out of a traitorous monster like Galloway?

In a decent society, people DO deserve to be beaten up for their indecent political views.

That's the way you keep the decent society from becoming an indecent pest hole.

I believe we left "decent society" behind some time ago. In today's environment when Jews are physically and psychologically harassed by the likes of Galloway not to mention Islamic immigrants, when the MSM is afraid to report and the civil authorities refuse to apply the law to Islamics, "decency" is what you make of it.

This is what happens when standards and the normal course of consequences are unfairly remitted by those with some agenda. Think of the small town sheriff who prevents a relative from being arrested for rapes and beatings they dole out on a couple of drunken weekend sprees. Eventually some one kills the SOB.

This guy is immune from consequence due to the activity of the organized Left and their media toadies. In a normal civil society his multiple acts of treason would get punished. He would be lampooned and pretty quickly would become an unelectable embarrassment, even if his local community basically agreed with him. They would pick someone less toxic.

Not Galloway. He is a media untouchable. Therefore someone felt forced to even the score. This is a mini cautionary tale about what happens when you use position to rig the scales. You don't gat away with it.

Attention Barrack. There is a limit.

Galloway doesn't have an extensive Secret Service detail to protect him.

Thing is, he wasn't beaten up for his political views; he was beaten up for being an unmitigated ass.

I'm ok with that.

He may have been wrong to pummel the repellent Galloway but I'd still like to shake Mr. Masterson's hand.

I understand Masterson's dilemma. Because you know what they say about "Attitude Adjustments..."

They have to be applied manually.

"In a decent society, people DO deserve to be beaten up for their indecent political views."

That's exactly what the Left, and their unions, and their armed thugs think. Shame on you and all of you who chime in with this.

For those of us who aren't entirely ignorant of the politics over there, Galloway recently stood up on the BBC and vehemently decried and called out a pack of leftists in Scotland who shouted down, surrounded, and threatened Nigel Farage...the UKIP leader who is closer to a Tea Party conservative than 90% of Republicans in Congress. Vile views though he has, he is not an anti-speech barbarian like so much of the Left. Here's video if you don't believe me:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0i6EPEgojiE

The fact that he takes this rather risky stance, given his base, makes those here who defend this barbarism all the more like their political opponents who feel similarly justified in bringing pain on those with whom they disagree. Additionally, he makes this stand in a country increasingly known for passing laws outlawing certain kinds of speech and thought.

Some of you need to get your priorities in order. We will never have a just society until we first establish the freedom of people to air their views without threat of harm. If you are more interested in satisfying primitive, savage urges to silence others, then please...get the hell away from the conservative movement. We don't need you making right-wing American politics even less distinguishable from those of the Left.

I agree with you. It's appalling to advocate, or even excuse physical attacks on those one disagrees with.
However, you make several mistakes when you describe Galloway as a man committed to the protection of free speech. While his defense of Nigel Farage is commendable, it hardly negates his belief that Bradford be off-limits to anything Israli-'goods and people. and what do people brong with them- their beliefs and an ability to,express them.
Also, as Rick Moran notes, Galloway refused to debate an Israeli speaker. He is an out-and-and hater of Israel, an anti- Semite-because who but an anti- Semite would demonize the state of Israel as he has?

As for his taking a brave stand, his constituency is heavily Muslim; they salute his rants. And the U.K. , in general, has allowed the vehement and unhinged anti- Israel propaganda to be voiced.

What next calling the US no better than Germany and Japan in WW2, cause they carpet fire bombed and nuked cities?

Take that argument somewhere else bro.

I never said anything about the US. I spoke about and directly addressed any and all individuals who are such dangerous fanatics that they support violence against those who merely hold a different opinion. Do you support the freedom of people to speak and think without the threat of violence, or not?

Whatever you wish on others, I fully hope you get in spades yourself.

The important thing is to win the war, so that your principles can prevail and be implemented.

Carpet Bombing cities full of civilians isnt the highest expression of US principles and aspirations, but it was necessary.

I support the right of European Christendom to exist. Do you support that or not?

You can sit by and twiddle your thumbs, defending the right of Nazis and Islamists and Communists to speak and participate in our democracy and inform our laws, but in the end, you are gonna have to fight back. The earlier this is done, the less suffering necessary for all involved. So if you really cared about Free Speech, you would defend it, instead of kowtowing to Totaliarians, in some noble self defeating gesture. Waiting till it's too late, isnt noble, it's just plain dumb, and heartless to boot.

But alas...

Well then, what CAN people be beaten up for if not for wrongheaded views that impoverish us all and coarsen the very society that's supposed to be so tolerant?

I hope that Galloway's attacker is punished by being "gonged" for his service to the Realm.

I think at least an OBE or a CMG,("Call Me 'God'") would fit the bill quite nicely.

It may be a minor point....but, I don't know how Islamic populations came be anti-Semite when they, in fact, are classified as Semites themselves....or, are they also against themselves? At the rate that they are willing to kill their own people (women and children), maybe they are anti-Semitic and really want to be something else? Just adding food for thought.
