Pelosi Goes All Vox on the IRS Scandal

Vox is a clownish website. Nancy Pelosi is a clownish leftist.

So it’s no shock that they would agree on the real, root cause of the IRS scandal.

It’s not, as you and I and most sentient beings believe, a case of weaponizing government against dissent.

It’s just a budget/technology issue.

Here’s Madame Former Speaker from today’s press briefing.

Pelosi’s words: ““What it convinces me [of] is that they need a new technology system at the IRS. They need to upgrade their technology, get it right, so that there’s no suspicion about what agenda anyone may have on that.”

Rep. Pelosi was first elected to Congress in 1987. That means she was there when the IRS inked a massive contract with Computer Sciences Corp in 1998. That 15-year contract, worth $3 billion back in 1998 and $5 to $10 billion over its lifetime (estimated) was for upgrading and modernizing the IRS’ computer and record-keeping system. 1998 plus 15 years gets us to…2013.

So the IRS just finished modernizing its record-keeping regime.

Congress holds the government’s pursestrings. So sure Pelosi knows all about that contract.
