Russia Sanctions on U.S. Officials Include 'Harry Reed'

As President Obama signed another executive order extending sanctions to additional Russian officials, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced its own list of sanctioned people:

We’ll assume that they meant Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) instead of Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.).

Senators included on the list were happy to be there.

“President Putin’s military invasion and annexation of Crimea is brutal, totally unacceptable, and sadly returns us to a period of Cold War aggression and hostility,” said Menendez, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee. “It doesn’t have to be this way, but if standing up for the Ukrainian people, their freedom, their hard earned democracy, and sovereignty means I’m sanctioned by Putin, so be it.”
