RNC Chairman Reince Priebus sent a memo to “all Republican Elected Officials, Strategists, Surrogates, and Pundits” this morning asking them to stay off MSNBC until the network apologies for the following tweet last night:

msnbctweet

Wrote Priebus:

While we understand MSNBC will go to great lengths to discredit Republicans and conservatives, this kind of attack on the millions of Americans who identify with the political right is offensive and unacceptable. Unfortunately, this tweet is just the latest in a pattern of poor statements by MSNBC and its hosts.

This morning I left a message with MSNBC President Phil Griffin to express my displeasure. I have sent him a letter demanding that he personally, as president of the network, take responsibility and apologize for the disgusting tweet. Until he takes internal corrective action and personally apologizes—not just to the RNC but to all right-of-center Americans—I’m banning all RNC staff from appearing on, associating with, or booking any RNC surrogates on MSNBC.

As an elected official, strategist, or surrogate, I’m asking for you to agree to the same.

We can have our political disagreements with MSNBC, but using biracial families to launch petty and ridiculous political attacks is low, even by MSNBC’s standards. It only coarsens our political discourse.

MSNBC hosts—including Alec Baldwin, Martin Bashir, Melissa Harris-Perry, Alex Wagner, and Ronan Farrow just to name a few—have had a troubling streak in the last several weeks of making comments that belittle and demean Americans without furthering any thoughtful dialogue. Perhaps it’s time for the executives at MSNBC to consider whether their network is upholding a meaningful journalistic mission.

This is more than just a tweet or an offhand comment. This is part of a pattern of behavior that has gotten markedly worse, and until Phil Griffin personally apologizes and takes corrective action, we cannot be part of this network’s toxic programming.

I am confident that he will want to “lean forward” and prove to the American people that he does not condone this behavior. I look forward to his apology and corrective action.

The tweet sparked the response hashtag #MyRightWingBiracialFamily, in which users sent photos to the network.

MSNBC followed up with the tweets:

UPDATE (4:45 p.m.): MSNBC president Phil Griffin apologized to Priebus in a phone call and also issued a statement calling the offending tweet “outrageous and unacceptable.”

“We immediately acknowledged that it was offensive and wrong, apologized, and deleted it. We have dismissed the person responsible for the tweet,” Griffin said. “I personally apologize to Mr. Priebus and to everyone offended. At msnbc we believe in passionate, strong debate about the issues and we invite voices from all sides to participate. That will never change.”

The RNC said the apology was accepted and the boycott lifted.

They offend on the air and apologize in a tweet. Big deal. I am so sick of the left and their MSM cheerleaders claiming an exclusive interest in so many ordinary things that we all consider good, decent and right; while actually supporting policies and attitudes that make those things worse. Then for good measure they blame and vilify Conservatives and other ordinary Americans caught in the struggle to pay for and deal with all of the ensuing insanity.

Any republican or conservative who goes on MSDNC is either an enabler or stupid. Or both.

Example of republican attitudes and behaviours - since when?

Representative of the "republican" Party demands an "APOLOGY from the gangs determined and already well on the way to takeover by whatever works the government - and by extension "The Lives of Others" - in The Constitutional REPUBLIC of the USA.

Big brave man wrings his hands, is he weeping?, and DEMANDS an apology from the bullies else he'll take his toys and go home.

So now the nationial stage of The Constitutional Republic has become a nursery school, or at best primary school, playground controlled by the brownshirts of the chief bullies.

And the contracted and paid for guardiians of the playground are advised to be cool, not make waves, show they mean business in defending the REPUBLIC in application for an APOLOGY from the bullies on the plalyground.

This as example of the attitudes of the contracted guardians of the REPUBLIC during the past half century it's no wonder the nation is in a mess.

The bullies and their brownshirts smirking the demanded apology. And "everybody's happy" rigiht.

You could not make this up. It's the real world and we're stuck witih it. ]

Aren't we?

I don't understand why any conservative would ever go on MSNBC, for any reason.

Why lift the boycott? There's more firings that need to be done. MSNBC is the new progressive KKK in America. Anyone with a brain and a principle can see that.

Priebus, Rove and their operatives, Butt Boy Boehner, McCain, Paul Ryan, are doing EVERYTHING possible to sink Republican chances in this election. They are helping Obama on Obamacare instead of attacking a Law the vast majority of Americans resist, and, they are pushing the ONE THING that will prevent the Senate from swinging Republican, Illegal immigration. They are not stupid. They are fellow progressives and would rather see Dems win than Conservative Republicans win at the polls. They perceive, rightly, that Conservatives threaten their power and little Progressive club. That's why they never attack Obama or Obamacare and instead attack Gohmert, Cruz, Paul and the other Conservatives.

Priebus should've called out Chris Matthews for his ranting race-baiting when he was actually on air with him during the Presidential campaign.

I guess it's never too late, but I think the GOP should go further and extend the ban until Melissa Harris-Perry and Al Sharpton are fired and use the words "racial bigots" in asking for their firing. By appearing on MSNBC with its current hosts, the GOP is giving credibility to and normalizing hate speech.

If the problem is one of thinking bigotry is simply an opinion, and Perry and Sharpton deserve a voice, then demand MSNBC define an on-air standard for what is racial bigotry and then stick to it.

Right now the double standard is an immense chasm where disagreement with Obama is racism and racism by Perry and Sharpton is simple disagreement. Forget that. Why even talk to anyone at such a network? And if you are going to do that, start going after them, right on air.

Priebus is a fellow Progressive and will never attack Democrats or other Progressives on any meaningful subject. Oh, Priebus will attack half heartedly on a few insignificant things, but he is FOR OBAMA. Just watch him on Illegal Aliens and Obamacare. Priebus follows the strict Obama/Progressive line. So too McCain, Graham, Boehner, Paul Ryan, and of course, Rove. Progressives all. If you don't believe it, watch their ACTIONS the next 2 months.

I know that not one national politician will call for the deportation of illegal aliens. When you bring it up they start talking about trains and concentration camps. It would be pitifully simple to do, IF we had the will to do it. Everyone's scared by "racist," which now trumps mere law.

Since the NSA's so into every nook and cranny of American society, have them network with every cable company, electric company, emergency room, local police and announce a new law that every illegal alien who doesn't leave America will have their assets seized to pay for their own deportation. Announce no more legal immigration into America from Latin America until this problem is solved. You won't need any trains. They can leave the same way they came.

Watch the unemployment rate suddenly drop and local and fed budgets have more money. But no, that would make too much sense. What's law compared to an agenda no one on the Left can even describe? How the hell does it benefit America to fill it up with Mexicans? I don't get that.
