The Obama administration has not gotten the young-old mix of Obamacare customers that it wants. It needed about 38% of Obamacare’s sign-ons to be young, healthy Americans, but HHS revealed Tuesday that only about 24% fit the bill.

Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel ripped the administration in his monologue last night, and suggested that it probably wasn’t a good idea to try to get young Americans to do something they don’t have to do yet, and probably won’t do when new game consoles are competing for their dollars.

Stick around for the fake ad at the end.

Jimmy must have been talking to his former partner Adam Carolla and not to his former partner Sarah Silveman when he decided to go with this bit (which also makes sense from a ratings standpoint -- Kimmel can see what Leno's numbers have done over the past year since he decided to flaunt the TV comedian ban on Obama jokes, and he knows that Leno's about to go away and Jimmy Fallon is unlikely to take up the banner of making fun of the president on a nightly basis. Big chance coming to take over the top spot late-night, if you're willing to put up with what Carolla has and land on the left's list of heretics).

This is the hinge that connects the designed to fail pieces. We need the young to sign up, and we will let them stay on their parents plan until age 26.

So we're putting this all on the back of orphans? It's to laugh, never meant to work.

Props to Kimmel for this, when he dips into politics it's usually been on the wrong side, he hates the Tea Party.

And there's a second ad too, on a related issue.
