Debbie Wasserman-Schultz Invents New Term, Says Obamacare Will Help Dems in 2014

So here’s the chairman of the Democratic National Committee hanging all of the vulnerable Democrats up for re-election in 2014 out to dry.

CROWLEY: “Right. If you look at 2014, if you look at this through the prism of 2014, you don’t think that ObamaCare will weigh heavily on Democratic elections?”
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: “I think ObamaCare, because Americans have been feeling the benefits since 2010, where young adults can stay on their parent’s insurance plans until they’re 26, where on January 1st, if you have a preexisting condition, like I do as you know, as a breast cancer survivor, the peace of mind that those Americans are going to have, knowing that they could never be dropped, or denied coverage for that preexisting condition, the preventative care that’s available without a co-pay or deductible, those are benefits that Americans have already been feeling, and will increasingly feel as ObamaCare is fully implemented. So I think, actually Candy, that Democratic candidates will be able to run on ObamaCare as an advantage leading into the 2014 election.”
CROWLEY: “How many Floridians have lost their health care insurance in the private market?”
WASSERMAN SCHULTZ: “The situation that Floridians, or any person who’s gotten a transition letter from their insurance company are in, is that they will have an opportunity to shop on the exchange, and compare plans, and when they have — and the CEO of Florida Blue, was on a Sunday show just a week or so ago, talking about how they were — they are offering a replacement plan for the plans that they’re transitioning, and in most cases, the plan that the person is going to benefit from is actually lower cost, and has more benefits. So it is a real significant distortion to say that people — that hundreds of thousands of people are being cancelled. What’s actually happening is that they are very likely going to get a better plan for less money.”
CROWLEY: “Nonetheless one hundred thousand people — I mean hundreds of thousands of people, have had their insurance cancelled. Some of them, certainly not all of them, but some of them expressed an interest in keeping it.”

There’s a lot to pick through here. First, DWS shares her delusions with Candy “Mayday” Crowley, the anchor who threw herself on a political grenade and saved Obama from Benghazi last year. Crowley is about as Democrat-friendly as an anchor not working for MSNBC can get. Crowley almost minimizes the number of Americans losing their health insurance thanks to Obamacare, and then goes ahead and minimizes it anyway.

Second, what’s this term — “transition letter”? It’s new, and it’s DWS’ term for an insurance cancellation notice. So fear not, if you get one of those. You’re not being canceled, you’re just being transitioned from a plan you probably liked and could afford to a plan that covers less and costs you more. See, that’s not so bad. Isn’t life really just a long train of transitions anyway? What’s having one more transition imposed on you going to mean, anyway?

Then, finally, there’s what DWS actually says about next year’s elections: “I think, actually Candy, that Democratic candidates will be able to run on ObamaCare as an advantage leading into the 2014 election.”

Don’t stop believin’, Debbie.

If she’s right, then what are Mark Pryor, Mary Landrieu and all those red state Democrats worried about? What’s the problem?
