And that’s what Barack Obama is gonna have to do.”
“What happened in Newtown was probably the worst day in this country’s history since 9/11,” Schieffer added. “Surely, finding Osama bin Laden, surely passing civil rights legislation – as Lyndon Johnson was able to do – and, before that, surely defeating the Nazis was a much more formidable task than taking on the gun lobby.”
“This is a turning point in this country,” Schieffer continued. “The president is going to have to do more than just make a speech about it.”
He’s already done more. He wrote himself a to-do list of things he mostly should have done anyway, and none of which would have stopped the Newtown killer.
Mark Levin ripped Schieffer as a “Potemkin journalist” and “dinosaur” on his show last night. I just wonder, how does CBS justify keeping Schieffer around? Obama’s tone yesterday was far from laudable, it was transparent and phony. Using those kids to make the most pro-abortion president in American history appear to be pro-life was ridiculous. The president whose administration ran Fast and Furious now cares about controlling guns? Really? None of these juxtapositions occurred to the ancient newsman?
Besides all that, Schieffer by implication slandered millions of Americans who haven’t done anything wrong. That’s bad for business, CBS.
Sounds like someone who is going to fight to the death for the rights of hunters when the time comes.
Allow me to point out that being a segregationist, or even a Nazi, does not disqualify anyone from owning whatever firearms they wish, as long as they are law-abiding citizens in their conduct.
We do not yet have penalties for thought crime in this country—except on college campuses, of course.

I have respected you as one of the finest journalists for my entire life so far of 50 years. At one point in my life I seriously considered following in your foot-steps as a professional journalist. You would have been my model to emulate.
However, today, I am totally disgusted in your remarks, your lack of good judgment, your profound ignorance concerning firearms and their place in history, all combined with your incredible deterioration in professionalism. You have become just another conduit for the Progressive Liberal Agenda. You have become an Obama cheerleader and a spinner of propaganda.
All of your statements are carefully crafted to be pro Obama. You intentionally high-lite his “great accomplishments” such as killing Osama bin Ladin and treat him with kid gloves. You don’t ask the tough questions anymore, and it is easy to tell which side you are always on, Obama’s. Your recent comparison to Obama vs, the gun lobby and connecting it to defeating the Nazis is simply over the top. As a person in your age group, you should be well aware of the genuine evil associated with Adolph Hitler and the Nazis. You should be well aware of the sacrifices that Americans made to defeat them. It was the generation of my father that not only saved America, but saved the world. Your analogy and remarks are disrespectful to them. It cheapens their sacrifice. Your comparison of the gun lobby to the Nazis has connotations that the gun lobby is equally as evil. Do you really believe that? Do you really believe that the gun lobby should be trumped by an autocratic dictator such as Obama? Do really believe that the NRA are criminals responsible for the gun deaths in Newtown?
You played the Hitler/Nazi comparison card. The Hitler comparison card is always like the grand finally of fireworks at your local 4th of July Celebration. It is always sure to get the most Ooos! and Aaahs! from the crowd. The only comparison I see to Hitler is the similarity in which Obama continuously seizes more power and arranges the social structure and environment to give him greater influence and control. He is altering the Supreme Court. He is packing the hierarchy of courts with Liberals justices, District attorneys etc, He is changing the norms of work, food, housing, and welfare, and creating a society dependent upon him for basic needs. He is destroying individual liberty. He has contempt and disregard for the US Constitution, and Congress. He is doing all of the things that Adolph Hitler did in the 1930s. His attitude is, well, I am just going to do it–who is going to stop me? He operates exactly like Hitler, more so every day. You cannot see this? Have you lost your awareness of this history?
Certainly, the events at Newtown were both tragic and sad. However, your remark that it was as big as 911 is just simply ridiculous. Do you really believe that? A single person commits a crime and kills people, in this case several children, and it is as big as 911? This is absurd at best, and seems to be part of a carefully crafted anti-gun campaign in which you are participating. My heart goes out to those parents and families who lost loved ones at Newtown. It is devastating to them and sad for all Americans The event could not be any more profound to them, but not to the nation as a whole. I am a father, I work every day, I hold two Bachelors degrees in two very different subjects, I am a registered nurse working in a city emergency room. I am one of the nurses that helps your child breathe at 3:00 am or administers the critical antibiotic to your grandmother. I see victims of all kinds of violence, including gun violence. I understand the environment. I understand the misery and the sadness, but it has nothing to do with the guns. I grew-up with firearms on an open gun rack in my kitchen with ammunition readily available in a kitchen draw. I was taught gun safety and responsibility from a World War II veteran that I called Dad. I could have touched those guns on the rack at anytime I was alone, but I never did, because my father told me not to touch them. He promised me we would shoot them when I became old enough, and he followed through on his promise when I came of age, at thirteen. Do you think we might have a cultural, societal problem compared to when I was a kid? I have been involved with firearms ever since my introduction as an honest law abiding citizen. I am also a proud member of the NRA. Do you think I am a criminal responsible for the gun deaths in Newtown ? Am I the gun lobby that you equate to the Nazis?
The 2nd Amendment is not meant to be frozen to a 1791 standard. The changes in firearms technology are irrelevant to the concept of individual freedom and liberty that the 2nd Amendment was designed to protect. If you apply the 1791 standard to Freedom of the Press, than radio, TV and the internet should be banned, and your news reports should be regulated to a hand operated printing press. The 2nd Amendment is not a right to hunt deer, or punch holes in paper targets. It is the right to keep and bear arms for personal, individual protection anywhere you have a lawful place to be. It is also a deterrent against an overreaching, obtrusive government, all by design in the US Constitution by men who never again desired to be ruled by a King. I cannot believe you don’t understand this.
I could discuss this topic with you, as well as many others, until we were both out of breath. I cannot understand your perspective. As of today I plan to no longer watch or listen to any of your news reports. I am unsubscribing from Face The Nation as a podcast. I am sad and disappointed in you beyond words. I cannot believe that you have sold-out America in your statements and views concerning this topic. I cannot believe that you are now so blind as to not see the destruction your” Fuhrer” Obama is synthesizing. America will never be the same because of this President. If nothing else he reminds us of another good reason to own a gun if you are a member of a minority subject to persecution or hate groups. The Nazis took away all of the guns and Blacks were denied gun ownership in the old south.

Lyndon Johnson, the great civil rights president? That is a massive misunderstanding of history. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was pushed forth by the Kennedy administration, a particularly popular president I might add. The bill was debated and mostly agreed upon when Kennedy was assasinated. Johnson merely signed the Act when it hit his desk. Not because he wanted to, but it was political suicide if he didn’t. Remember Kennedy joined with his northern Democrats and Republicans and voted in favor or the Civil Right Act of 1957, while Johnson voted against the act, siding with his fellow southern racists. Johnson finally “saw the light” after nearly 23 years in congress when he voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act of 1960. My guess, since it was landslide victory for civil rights, he simply found it politically expedient to change with the times. A political opportunist without a soul (Vietnam anyone?), and nothing more.
Bad for business, huh? This crap-infested business has been declining for years. They don’t care apparently.

That race card is really getting tiresome. I am a black American, and I own a firearm which I purchased legally. Most of my friends and neighbors are black, and they own firearms. Do liberal morons like Bob Schieffer believe that only white Americans are allowed to own guns? That obnoxious “divide and conquer” rhetoric isn’t fooling anybody. The flunkies and sock puppets in the media have lost every shred of credibility they ever had.
Let’s Follow The Liberal Logic
It is very clear that the Liberals dislike firearms. They fear them as if they have the autonomy and ability to jump from the shelves and fire at random without human assistance. They don’t understand them, they don’t want to understand them, they just want to close their eyes, click their heels three times and make them all go away, but after many attempts to do just that, they cannot seem to make them all go away. So, they pass, or attempt to pass,”feel good” laws instead.
In lieu of three heel clicks and strong wishes, the Liberals promote and pass gun laws that make them feel safer. Every law they pass is laughed at and circumvented by criminals, but the honest people obey these laws and loose another portion of their personal sovereignty and American freedom. The public is often placed at greater risk by these laws, such as “Gun-Free Zones.” Americans pay more money than they should for anything related to firearms because of the constant pressure to ban them by Liberals. The murders still happen, and with every high profile murder the Liberals state we need more gun control laws. The ultimate goals is always to just make them all go away.
The thinking that criminals will mind the laws that they pass is child-like magical thinking. It is analogous to the two year old that pulls the blanket over their eyes and believes if they cannot see you, then you cannot see them. This is magical thinking. It is an ignorance of object permanence, and just like the fact that you are present and can see the child, the crimes are still there and so are the guns.
Recently, the murders in Newtown, Connecticut have raised the Liberal hatred of the object, the gun, to unprecedented levels, as well as the magical thinking. The Liberal logic is to blame the NRA, gun manufactures, and ammunition manufactures for the deaths of the children and adults killed by gun crimes. Individuals commit crimes regardless of the tools they use.
The Teachers Union financially divested their retirement funds from firearms related companies in order to punish them for the deaths in Newtown. They want all of the firearms and ammunition manufacturers to go out of business, that would be Liberal Utopia. Mayor Bloomberg, Mayor Menino, Senator Feinstein, Senator Schumer, Sarah Brady, and many others that support their views, all desire for the American gun manufacturers and American ammunition manufacturers to go out of business. They abuse them and promote policies, and taxes, at every opportunity to promote this end.
During World War Two, General Patton revered American gun manufactures and stated that the M1 Garand Rifle was the”greatest battle implement ever devised”. The manufacturing companies of guns as well as their employees were considered heroes. They were vital to supplying the arsenal of democracy. When Springfield, Winchester,Colt, Remington and other firearms companies could not keep-up with war demand, other companies helped to provide guns. Typewriter manufacturers, such as Remington Rand made guns during the war, even Rock-Ola Juke Box made guns for the war effort. The companies and their employees were highly respected by the government as well as the public. They kept America safe. Today gun manufacturers are demonized and blamed for gun crimes. They are over taxed and over regulated. Their employees from the CEO on down are spit-on by the government, the media, and the Liberal public. How did we get to this point? Have you ever studied any US History related to America’s national security?
So let’s follow the Liberal Logic. If American gun manufacturers are driven out of business, and all of the American ammunition manufacturers are driven out of business by Liberal politicians and government policies, what happens next? After all of the celebration and exclamations of how much safer we all feel, what are the results of the elimination of American gun and ammunition manufacturing if Liberals are successful in destroying these industries?
I ask the Liberals who pursue the goal of total destruction of all American gun companies and all American ammunition companies the following questions:
1) Where will our United States armed forces get their weapons and ammunition?
2) Where will our police get their guns and ammunition?
3) Have you considered that gun manufactures that provide arms to the United States military may require a civilian market as part of their business plan in order to keep costs down as well as to stay in business to provide for the military? Have you considered that this may also be true for American ammunition manufacturing companies as well?
5) Do you expect The United States military to purchase their arms from Israel, the U.K., or China? Do you believe that will make us safer?
6) Do you foresee our soldiers writing home that they are getting slaughtered on the battlefield because they have constant shortages of ammunition and guns?
7) Can you imagine a platoon of US Marines huddled around a lap-top computer trying to place an order in desperation for ammunition with China while the bullets fly all around them and they die? Do you think all of these US Marines come from rich families, or from mostly blue-collar families? Should there be colored tags on their uniforms that indicate to the enemy, son or daughter of a rich 1%, Republican, and propose that they get killed as a preference over the less fortunate blue-collar family Marines? What if the father of one of those Marines has an NRA sticker on the back window of his pick-up truck, should that Marine be sacrificed first?
8) When the police arrive at your house to provide help to you or your neighbor, will they still have guns and ammunition? If not, do you believe this will make us safer?
9) When, not if, but when, a Mumbai style attack occurs by terrorists on US soil and US citizens are being slaughtered, will you as a Liberal hide behind an honest, hard working God fearing, law-abiding, Conservative with a gun and ask them to protect you and your family? Will you be proud at that moment that there are solid US citizens that cling to their guns and religion and have the guts and hardware to fight back? Do you think it would be best for US citizens to just cower in the corner and get shot and killed? As the shots ring-out will you pray for more gun control? How would you feel at that moment about ten round magazines,fifteens,or thirties in the possession of your fellow US citizen? Is it the guns that are doing the killing?
10) Have you considered the fate of the employees that go to work everyday for companies that manufacture firearms and ammunition ? Do you think they should loose their jobs? Do you think that only rich, 1% Republicans work there?
I ask that all of the Liberals who believe that mechanical objects, called guns, kill people and cast a spell upon humans as soon as they are touched, instantly converting these humans from respectable citizens into cold blooded killers, because the mechanical device has rubbed-up against them, to reject this ridiculous thinking. I ask all of the Liberals to stop reacting to pure human emotion on the subject of firearms, an emotion of fear, cultured, emphasized, and exploited by an anti-gun media as the primary conduit for the anti-gun groups. I ask that you engage in your own analysis of both the mechanics of the object, as well as the statistical facts involved, and not simply believe and” parrot-back” what the media states. I ask that you actually visit a gun range, participate in some target shooting with an instructor, take a safety class, and become knowledgeable rather than purely emotional about this subject. I then ask that you extrapolate your proposed policies and agenda. Please think about the consequences of what your are proposing, and be careful what you wish for, because you might just get it, and find the results are more horrific than you could ever imagine. I ask all of the Liberals to answer these questions, and so many more…
American gun manufactures as well as ammunition companies should be respected, honored, for their contribution to America’s National Security for their past, present,and future service to this nation. Even companies in the firearm industry that are not currently providing products to the military or police should be respected for their potential service if needed in times of war or crisis. There should be a partnership between with the federal government and these companies to enhanced our national security. American gun manufacturers and ammunition companies are just as vital now as in they past. They deserve the same respect as General Motors or any start-up “Green”company. Wake up America, and get your head on straight!

Senator Dianne Feinstein,The Happiest Girl In the Whole USA
Every morning since September 13, 2004, Senator Feinstein has awakened and prayed for the right conditions to bring back her beloved assault weapons ban. She has been saddened by the increased popularity of the guns she hates and fears since the sunset of the Clinton ban, nearly demoralized by the US Supreme Court’s decision regarding Heller and McDonald, and frustrated by the growing membership of the NRA. Senator Feinstein has also been bothered by a mostly Republican congress who will not even consider a re-implementation of the gun ban, as well as many members of her own party who are reluctant or unwilling to focus on her assault weapons ban and risk losing their next election based upon an anti-gun agenda.
On April 9, 2009, Senator Feinstein was interviewed on 60 minutes regarding gun control and her chronic promotion of her Assault Weapons Ban. She acknowledged during that interview that right now is not the time, but defiantly stated, ” I’ll pick the time and the place, no question about that”
When she went to bed on December 13, 2012, she never knew that her prayers would be answered the following morning. Not only would there be horrific gun violence on the morning of December 14, 2012, when Adam Lanza killed with a gun at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown ,CT but it would be the” Mother” of all episodes for the cause because it would involve the death of children. It was her made to order “Perfect Storm” of useful emotional video and images to promote her anti-gun agenda She could not have asked for a more spectacular event for a renewed anti-gun campaign. Before the bodies had even been removed from the floor from which they were slain, Senator Feinstein was turning cart wheels in her living room and making phone calls to the President and several other like-minded counterparts ,such as Schumer, Bloomberg, Menino, and McCarthy,and Sarah Brady, ecstatically exclaiming that this is it! Today is the day to set the wheels in motion and push for the reinstatement of her beloved Assault Weapons Ban. It was all ready, everything was already written, it had been edited and polished more than 1000 times, it was just lying in dormancy eager to be launched, her hands trembled with anticipation as she gathered the files and folders from their special place.
Later the President would speak about the murders while meticulously posing for the cameras with an outreached finger to the corner of his eye. The images were outstanding for the cause. The media intuitively smelled the start of the plan and focused their cameras accordingly. They sharpened their pencils, keyboards, and tongues to evoke maximum outrage, maximum emotion. They too knew what to do, and what to say, their word choices were outstanding to promote the cause, as if they referenced a secret manual for the campaign. In the words of Rahm Emanuel, ” You never want to let a serious crisis go to waste” The events in Newtown are perfect fodder for exploitation in order to promote the destruction of the 2nd Ammendment.
Among the carnage, among the grief, among the genuine sadness and the lingering bloodstained floor, Senator Feinstein truly is The Happiest Girl In the Whole USA.
