Via Anthony Watts we have word that the current draft of the IPCC report on global climate change has been leaked. The story at Watts Up With That is here; the report is here.
The biggest news is that this report admits to a much larger role for solar irradiation than previous reports have done. As Anthony says, that would be a game-changer.

Where’s our good friend “A Physicist” when we need to laugh and throw spitwads at him?
i think the “physicist” has been perma banned
If you think he was annoying here, you should see the cutesy stuff he spams Curry’s blog with.
Wait, the sun has an effect on our climate? Who knew that (aside from those of us with a functioning brain.)
When I click on this link, a popup appears in a second window for some “Green Coffee” weight loss snake oil bullshit.
It is one of those that will not allow you to close the window without force quitting the browser.
If Pajamas is consciously running these types of ads, it will guarantee that I will be visiting the site far less often.
I’ve been having problems with that too, and I’m glad that you’ve confirmed that it’s coming from here. That is definitely major major bad, because it resembles malware. If that happens again, that’s it for PJ. I’ve had malware attacks before, and anything that even smells like malware is a deal breaker.
Really, really bad idea, PJ.
What browser are you using, does it have a setting to block popups, and is it set?
I’m using Firefox 17.0.1 on Windows 7 or 8 depending on which computer I’m using, and I’ve never encountered the popup you’re describing.
McAfee gives it a big red X and won’t let it finish loading most of the time, but yes, the popups are getting to be more than annoying, especially the green coffee one.
Okay, I’m not getting any of this, but we’ve had trouble before with malware embedded in ads served to us from the ad vendor. If it happens again, could someone get me a screen shot? You can mail it to me at chasrmartin AT gmail DOT com.
I don’t know if it’s actually malware, but I have been getting popunders. Popunders are annoying, but only that. The thing that’s problematic though are certain popunders that refuse to close without clicking a button. Clicking the red “X” in the upper right doesn’t close these. That’s I go into “red alert” mode. Instead of clicking the “yes I want to close the window” button, which may release the Orcs, I kill Firefox completely, and then reopen it. Even then it may try to reload, and I have to do it a second time.
It’s probably just some advertiser thinking he’s being clever, but it looks too much like serious bad stuff I’ve dealt with in the past, and it’s not cute. If it happens again, I’ll try to get a screenshot.
Charlie Martin,
The blog author at the link you posted has asked for media sites to host the content, in case it disappears. Perhaps PJ Media could host the documents?
Watch this space. We will as soon as I get them — the server is 500′d erroring right now. I got the first few, and they should be up shortly.
Many in the environmental movement resist the idea that the sun, interstellar radiation and the magnetic fields of the earth are the primary drivers of “climate change” (perhaps as much as 80~90%) as it removes their legitimacy and quest for power over us all.
As for the “science is settled” argument. That is total bullshit. It will take at least another 20+ years before we have climate models that are worth anything, the ones we have at the moment are no better that using dartboards to determine long term weather patterns.
My immediate response on this incessant assault on the surely settled science of antropocentric global warming is this:
If we can’t predict the weather with any kind of accuracy a week into the future, what would make you think that we can predict the climate in even 10 years?
Frankly, I find your lack of faith disturbing.
Dr. Mann even has a Nobel Prize certificate to certify the validity of his scientific greatness. With credentials like that, how could you not believe everything the IPCC says?
I just wonder if the HARRY_READ_ME guy is resting easy now or heading for the hills!
rbj, I had to laugh at your screwball remark. A zinger if ever there was one.
Everyone knows the Sun is racist.
It’s true, Robert. What other possible explanation could there be for the fact that the sun sends so much heat to places where brown people live?
If the sun wasn’t racist all parts of the Earth would get an equal amount of solar energy per unit area.
