I look back at 1984, and say, when Ronald Reagan won a huge reelection, it was an affirmation of his policies. That did not happen here [in 2012]; there is no mandate, because it’s not 1984. However, people have to lay down those markers, and make an argument, beginning tonight, that “we told you so.” This is going to be the two-year “we told you so” cycle. When the currency crisis comes, when the national defense crisis comes, when the Islamists hit us again, it is a “we told you so” moment, and Republicans can’t be afraid of that.
A large number of the voters who gave Barack Obama four more years weren’t born in 1984. You might as well be talking about 1884 as far as they’re concerned.
Saying “we told you so” after the crisis comes or when Islamists hit us again isn’t likely to do much good. Islamists have hit us during Obama’s term, once in Texas and once very recently in Libya. What happened? Obama’s government called the Texas attack “workplace violence” and screwed the victims out of their due benefits. Obama flat out lied about Libya, Candy Crowley and CBS did their best Walter Duranty (another irrelevant figure from the dim past that none of Obama’s voters have any clue about) and and helped cover up the lie. And of course, Obama was re-elected.

It is only the threat of Lexington and Concord that will give the Left pause.
And then when they resume after the pause, it is only Lexington and Concord that will get them to stop. I welcome alternatives. I see none being effective. Only arms will carry the day, I’m afraid. And I am under no illusions at the moment. Well before we do the first thing the state will call illegal, we can rely on many of us having to be martyrs to the police and the DOJ and the media and the Juicebox Mafia before critical mass is attained. I expect to be in that number. Such is the price of Liberty.
But nevertheless, I have a difficult time right now believing anything else other than arms will work. The time for other things was five years ago. It was wasted because it did not come in the form “politically smart” people wanted. We have a chance–but we can no longer leave this in the hands of the politicians. Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country. We are a Land of Liberty, not a Land of Social Justice where whitey and suburbia get theirs.
You people of the blogosphere have a decision to make. Make it. Where do you stand, and with whom?
Of course, that’s the trouble with the “War on Terror”. Because everything the US says is a “terrorist” is fair game to be put in jail indefinitely or taken out by a drone strike, US citizen or not, regardless of any civilian casualties, even what you suggest is not really an option.
Unless, of course, you’re an Islamist, in which case it is “workplace violence”.
But if done by enough people, Lexington and Concord is an option. We do not have them at this time (and the level of required patience has not yet been exhausted), but it might be achievable. The key, of course, is to start a conversation on the responsibilities of citizen to government, government to citizen, the hecessity for the adherence to the rule of law, and do on. Then a sudden genesis of spirit may start arising in the people. And if not, we have made our case for the future, as we lose the present.
Ask yourself a simple question, where will the tax hike on the so called rich
come from?? You know the answer, it’s ALL the tax payers who will bleed for prop 30. Oh well , no brains no headaches.
I don’t think Islamists will bother to hit us in the US. I mean, what’s the point? They’ve taken over pretty much the entire Middle East except Israel…wait until they consolidate their hold on it.
The progressives do not believe that our enemies hate them as much as they do the rest of us. And they never will.
They are so marinated in their self-righteous Che Guevara worship that they honestly believe in both the Nomad Syndrome (“Since you refuse to let me make you perfect, I will destroy you- the survivors will be wiser and do as I say”), and the Manson Syndrome (“Once the strong but stupid primitives have Triumphed, they will recognize my innate superiority and beg me to rule the Brave New World, with them as my adoring acolytes.”).
They will only realize the reality when they are ‘dobe-walled right alongside the rest of us. And even then, they’ll be whining, “But can’t we talk about this??”
I will try with all my might to resist telling them, “I told you so.” I may settle for, “At least try to die like a man.”

Bryan, you sound depressed. I don’t blame you, man.
Me, I more feel mystified: how could BHO catch a lucky bounce but also gys like Thompson in Wisconsin get defeated? Even Michael Barone, major brainiac, got it way wrong.
So, how do we prepare for the coming disaster?
This is no longer a rhetorical question.
Saying “I told you so” will help keep Obama accountable in the future. We failed to keep him accountable now, let’s not fail in four years.
