Well, this is one way to avoid answering questions about whether security was adequate at the Benghazi consulate, what indications we had of an attack beforehand, and other uncomfortable questions that the Obama campaign — er, I mean the State Department — won’t be answering anytime soon.
Josh Rogin writing at The Cable:
“I’m going to frustrate all of you, infinitely, by telling you that now that we have an open FBI investigation on the death of these four Americans, we are not going to be in a position to talk at all about what the U.S. government may or may not be learning about how any of this this happened — not who they were, not how it happened, not what happened to Ambassador Stevens, not any of it — until the Justice Department is ready to talk about the investigation that’s its got,” State Department spokeswoman Victorian Nuland told reporters late Friday afternoon.
“So I’m going to send to the FBI for those kinds of questions and they’re probably not going to talk to you about it,” she said.
All aspects of the attack, including what led up to it, its causes, the identity of the perpetrators, and the circumstances surrounding the death of Amb. Chris Stevens and the other three Americans, are off limits for reporters.
The new policy leaves many questions about the Benghazi attack unanswered, potentially for a long time, such as the identity of the attackers, whether they were connected to protests earlier in the day in Cairo, what were the exact circumstances and cause of Stevens’s death, whether the administration had indications of the threat beforehand, and whether the consulate’s security was adequate or not.
Many of these questions are sure to be asked by lawmakers, beginning with the leaders of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, who called today for an investigation into the security procedures at the Benghazi consulate before and during the attack.
What do questions about adequate security or foreknowledge of the attack have to do with an FBI investigation into a criminal act? Those are political questions that the Obama campaign wants to stifle because they know the answers will reveal them to be incompetent boobs. One report has Hillary Clinton making the decision not to post Marines at the consulate. Shouldn’t we find out if our Secretary of State left our diplomats in a chaotic situation — a failed state where almost everyone has a gun — with inadequate protection? Shouldn’t we have the facts about what, if any information we had about potential attacks on our embassies and consulates prior to September 11?
I can understand not releasing details of some aspects of the attack, but these and other questions about what transpired prior to the assassination of our diplomats should be fair game and I hope Congress drags these people in front of a committee to tell us what they knew and when they knew it — and what they did about it.

‘Cause Romney was right.
It’s the perfect regime. Every hot potato gets thrown from one part of the administration to the other, in endless loops.
When we were free, the Press was the knife cutting the loops.
Now we have “only” the power of the Internet, today’s samizdat.
And the vote in November.
I think Bill had a talk with Hill. I don’t know if she can be saved at this point, but if anybody can do it, it’s him.
– October 7.
But don’t you understand, Hillary and Barack only want our embassies to reflect what they want for our own cities – no one to be armed. That way no one can be hurt by an evil gun.

Golf, it’s not just a game, sometimes it is a metaphor. What’s a guy got to do to get a Mulligan?
Question, brought up by Diplomad:
What is the American Ambassador with minimal security doing at an insecure location in a fractured country on a significant anniversary for our enemy who has free rein to operate in that country? Was there really something so pressing to justify the risks?
No more questions so they can try to protect Hillary, see this piece at breitbart –
“Hunt told Breitbart News that the new State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya, approved and signed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton since the 2011 fall of Khadafi’s regime, severely compromised the safety and security of murdered Ambassador Stevens and all American diplomatic staff in Libya.
He also stated that the decision not to staff Benghazi with Marines was made by Secretary of State Clinton when she attached her signature to the State Department Rules of Engagement for Libya document. Breitbart News has subsequently learned that under those rules of engagement, Secretary Clinton prohibited Marines from providing security at any American diplomatic installation in Libya.” more at the link…

“Ask no questions, they will tell no lies….”
Probably the average State Dept career employee is less than eager to lie for a feckless administration. Easiest way to avoid lying and criminal prosecutions is to zip it.
lol
If the FBI was asked to find knowledge as to who Pooped their Pants in regards as if proper protocol was followed to protect its Ambassadors in a terrorist attack they need to remember that the American people are not stupid and they have to look no farther than Comrade ZerO`s administration starting with SoS Hillary Clinton and her ridiculously under protected embassy which was left as an invitation card to the good people of the Arab Spring! Obama Obama we are all Osama!! And we actually have Idiots in this country who want to respect Sharia law? Dear FBI, We are under the most egregious attack from the highest authorities in our own house! WAKE UP!! The Rot starts at the head of the fish!
I wonder who Huma was talking to (and about what) prior to 9/11/2012. I wonder just what she had to say to her MOOSLIM BRUTHAHOOD family members and friends as to the potential timing and specific whereabouts of our Ambassador…being the “top aide” (that’s a good name for it) to Her Thighness the Secretary of State would probably make her privy to some pretty sensitive information…
I said, but it bears repeating: Congressional committees can ask all the questions they like, but that doesn’t mean they’ll receive honest, complete and accurate answers or any answers at all from State or the White House. Just look at the Fast & Furious investigation.
If it turns out some of the Gunwalking guns Eric Holder sold to the Mexican Drug Cartel were used to storm the Consulate and safe house, so we could blame the Arab Spring violence on the National Rifle Association and the Second Amendment could we get Holder to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate that? Ummmmm? Probably not.
(P.S. Hey, Hey, Obonzo, How’s that anti-colonial thing working out for you?)
(Ob to EB: “Well, it is coming along, but we certainly will NOT be done by Jan. 20. No Way. No How.”)
Yet another massive security breach, that nobody wants to talk about, from this administration. The jihadis knew exactly where our ambassador was and exactly when he was there although those details were supposedly ‘secret’. Huma’s State Dept and private communications of ALL SOURCES should be immediately seized and analyzed for deletions and other attempts at hiding who she has been talking to in the months leading up to this barbaric tragedy. But, any foreign service espionage expert would have methods for concealing communications. Obama would just claim executive privilege anyway….pitiful.
