In 2008, Bill Maher produced the film Religulous. That film mocks organized religion and, in particular, singles out Christianity for scorn. The purpose of the movie is to depict religious believers as crazy. Take a look at the trailer. It’s a bit heavy-handed, what with the Gnarls Barkley soundtrack and all.
In the wake of this week’s riots and attacks on the U.S. across the Middle East, the Obama administration has taken pains to assure the world that the United States is not a fan of mocking religion. In his initial statement on the Benghazi atrocity, President Obama said:
While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.
What is Religulous, if not an attempt to denigrate the religious beliefs of others? The title is a mash-up of “religion” and “ridiculous.”

No, no, no. It all depends on whose ox you gore. The jihad attacks Christians, Jews, and secular folk just minding their own business. Christian rioters would necessarily strike against leftist activists; Jewish rioters, particularly Israelis, would have to target Muslims. THESE ARE PROTECTED CLASSIFICATIONS. Attacks on them would be stopped, and then avenged, without mercy!
I think it was last year when the New York Times (“All the news we think you stupid troglodytes can deal with”) profiled a new breed of young Tibetan activists, raised in exile. They were complaining that the Dalai Lama’s principled pacifism hadn’t gotten them anywhere, and now it was time to follow the example of the Palestinians, whose “armed struggle” had won them the support of the world. Good luck, dudes; kill innocent Jews and the world applauds. Kill innocent Chinese – or even guilty Chinese – and you will be mown down like grass by their authorities and the rest of the world won’t give a flying you-know-what. It’s not the technique that matters, it’s your choice of enemies.

only applies to Muslims who will start wars, kill people and claim that they are a religion of peace, that has in their Koran the concept that lying to promote Islam is fine and killing in the name of converting to Islam is fine.
